Combat Stress is the UK’s leading military charity specialising in the care of Veterans’ mental health. Founded in 1919, our aim is to ensure that Veterans receive the right mental health care, in the right place, at the right time.

We provide specialist trauma-focused treatment at three short-stay Treatment Centres, practical and clinical support in the community and a 24-hour Helpline (0800 138 1619).

Our work saves lives and is as vital today as it has ever been. Right now, we’re supporting more than 5,000 UK Veterans with mental health problems, including 284 Veterans who have served in Afghanistan and 637 who served in Iraq.

It is every rugby player’s dream to combine his job with his passion and pull on the jersey for his team, his club and ultimately his country. But when things go wrong – a bad tackle,

a collapsed scrum, a serious accident or illness off the pitch – Restart is there to pick up the pieces. We provide financial support and practical assistance to present and former professional rugby players and their families. Support includes help with the cost of medical treatment, rehabilitation equipment, counselling, education and retraining. As well as financial help, Restart is also there to listen and lean on when players need emotional support to help them come to terms with a career-ending injury.RestartThe RPA, Regal House, London Road, Twickenham, TW1 3QS Tel: 020 8831 7930 Email: [email protected]: www.therpa.co.uk/charityRegistered Charity No. 1113160

Tickets: £18 or £15 for RGS-IBG members

Josh Lewsey MBEEngland Rugby World Cup winner and British Lion Josh Lewsey MBE won every major domestic and international trophy. Commissioned from RMA Sandhurst to serve as an Officer in the Royal Artillery he also has degrees in Physiology and Law. Since retiring from Rugby in 2009, he survived an ascent of Mount Everest and having spent two years as a management consultant at PwC decided to specialise further within finance, now working on the trading floor at Citibank. Amongst other causes, he is an ardent supporter of Combat Stress and a trustee of Restart.

Brigadier Ed Butler CBE DSO Ed is Executive Chairman of Salamanca Risk Management, part of Salamanca Group, a Merchant Banking and Operational Risk Management business. Ed oversees strategic growth, corporate governance issues and business development across all

Salamanca Risk Management’s verticals. Ed served 24 years in the British Army, where he spent the majority of his time on active service with UK Special Forces. He was Commander of British Forces during the break-in battle into Southern Afghanistan in 2006, having previously commanded 22 SAS during the period over 9/11.

Michael Vaughan OBEFormer England and Yorkshire cricketer, Vaughan was ranked as one of the best batsmen in the world. He captained England in 51 Tests of which he won 26 – a national record. Retiring in 2009, Vaughan joined the BBC’s Test Match Special team. He carried

the Olympic Torch through Hillingdon for the London Olympic Games and recently competed on Strictly Come Dancing 2012.

Damian Hopley A graduate of St Andrews and Cambridge University, Damian Hopley played for Wasps and England but was forced to retire from professional rugby in 1998 after a series of knee operations. The lack of support available to professional players led Damian to found the RPA later that same year. He is the driving force behind the RPA and his influence ensures that players’ rights are protected and represented at all levels within the sport. Damian has been the principal negotiator for both the England and British & Irish Lions players’ contracts since 2001. He is currently Chairman of the International Rugby Players’ Association (IRPA).

Salamanca Group combines traditional Merchant Banking practices and values with sophisticated Operational Risk Management to offer a uniquely relevant partner for today’s global

challenges. Privately held, the Group balances dynamism with discretion to help clients achieve their goals. Investment solutions, trusted advice and bespoke services are all delivered within a holistic framework of risk analysis and mitigation.
