Analyse progress and attainment by different groups of children

Identify your disadvantaged children and monitor their key performance indicators such as reviewing their attendance, behaviour and rewards. When you’ve identified a group, you can look at a characteristic, such as behaviour, and the system will recognise who drops out of this group. You can make the group dynamic to automatically receive alerts when the system detects any changes.

Pull key information from SIMS instantly

Get the information you need at the click of a button, with pre-defined graphs, such as A level examination and key stage attainment graphs, achievements by half term, attendance, student bullying incidents by type, whole school graphs and the student totals by key pastoral factors.

Simple drag and drop interface

The SIMS Discover screen allows you to choose from a bank of predefined and customisable graphs and drag them onto the workspace. By simply clicking and dragging segments of graphs, you can create a Venn diagram in a few simple steps to cross reference information in your school.

Monitor specific groups of pupils

Easily set up dynamic groups of pupils to monitorperformance. Simply define your criteria, e.g. less than90% attendance and more than 50 behaviour points. Theseidentified strategic groups can then also be used withinSIMS for analysis in SIMS Assessment Manager, attendance,exams and SIMS InTouch communications.

Receive automatic alerts

Allow staff to receive automatic alerts notifying them ofsignificant changes in data, including pupil performanceand behaviour and changes to specific groups.

Analysing attendance and behaviour patterns• Identify attendance and behaviour

information from the current year, last year and two years ago.

• The top left bar chart shows the pupils’ attendance by session in the last year, and breaks this down into Pupil Premium and EAL pupils.

• The top right bar chart shows behaviour incidents by type, which you can filter by year group.

• The Venn diagram allows you to monitor trends between behaviour and attendance. Here you can see any correlation between the behaviour incidents and those pupils with less than 95% attendance and Pupil Premium children, and find out the names of specific pupils to whom this applies.

Performance comparison through the grade distribution graph• The new KS4 Grade Distribution Graph on the

chart below shows the grades attained by pupils in each subject . This can be used to quickly compare performance across subjects and classes.

• The user has double clicked on the bar and the graph on the left has appeared that shows the grade distribution of the English classes.

Your questions answered How do I get SIMS Discover? SIMS Discover is included as part of your current SIMS Assessment suite subscription. To find out more about getting up and running with SIMS Discover, contact your local SIMS Support Team, or call us on 0844 893 9000.

Will it work out English Baccalaureate? SIMS Discover can calculate the English Baccalaureate for your exam results and assessment results. It will show you the children that meet all of the required criteria and those which only meet some of the criteria.

Will it work out 5+A*-C? SIMS Discover can calculate 5+A*-C, including English and Maths for your exam results and assessment results. It will show you which children meet all criteria and which meet some of the criteria.
