Aptitude Tests
Taken in November of P7 year only by pupils whose parents wish them to be eligible to apply for a place at Rainey Endowed School.

• Proven, Standardised and Objective
• Used by Schools in England and Wales

• Two closed, standardised reasoning papers
• Multiple-choice in nature
• Answered on OMR sheets
• Marked externally• Saturday morning (2 x 50 min + break)
Find two words, one from each group, which are most nearly opposite in meaning. On your answer sheet, mark two letters, one from each group.

• Aptitude Test requires literacy and numeracy knowledge, skills and understanding, but is not content based.
• No need for additional teaching beyond learning experiences which are an integral part of education in the Revised Curriculum at Key Stage 2.

• A mark score for each candidate will be communicated to parents before applications are required by ELBs.
• A remark facility is available.
• Mark score will be taken into consideration in the context of the published admissions procedures.
