Based on personal evaluation the radio is the third most used mass media in the Caribbean.

It is a major recreation for a lot of children between ages 10-16 who may not have all the access to all the TV channels nor the Internet.

The radio can be plugged in to there ears for private usage via headphone.

They listen a lot of R&B, Reggae, Dancehall and since recent time majority of them listens to Hip Hop.

They try to emanate the behavior of the persons they hear whether good or bad.

These are teen searching for attention and it is easier to emanate a bad personality, since it will get everyone's attention within a short time span.

Radio satisfy many needs internationally but as it relates to children and young adolescents it does more harm.

Children listen to programs that are above their age and sometimes pick up broken information that may affect them for the rest of their life.

Parent are to be careful of the things they listen in the children present because the information they think they are not hearing (supplemental listening) or is too technical for them to understand is the same information they used to confuse them self.

The online only stations that are not as regulated as we think because anyone with the appropriate software create a station which children in the U.S. could stay in their home and stream a Jamaican station.

Some of the advertisement the children hear while tuning to kiddies program maybe too detailed, And this influence to children to investigate thus the satisfy their curiosity.

A lot of children listen to AM stations because they can get the chance to pick up new frequencies.

The most impacting and influential aspect of radio on the children’s minds is the music, it create a lot of room for wonder and children act on this by experimentation.
