Lessons Learned
I. No back up for computers including UPS, Generator
II. Power – cut
III. No opportunity for a dry run
Training Program
Program revised to give room for “hands on experience” for the two studies with case studies
Need to review the case studies thoroughly before the training as data keep changing
Complementarity of the team to handle raised questions Unanticipated “crash”
National Choice
Option I plus National Biosafety Web site BCH seen as an obligation Need to link BCH to data input and entry to facilitate
science based decision making
Photos from Training Room
Training Program
Emphasise “national ownership” Status of current nBCH & links with current
choice Role of BCH Focal Point critical Involve stakeholders & principal decision
makers (if possible) Opportunities for “hands on”
RECOMMENDATIONS
Presentation of current status of BCH – a good starting point
Prepare with back up material (software, touchlights etc)
Project Unit – updates case studies Required materials – available to the countries Post training mentoring Need to link the BCH to national/international
obligations & role in decision making
Thank You
