CHURCH WIDE SUMMER FUNSPLASHDOWN AT OKATIBBEE WATER PARK

SUNDAY, AUGUST 3RD

6:15 P.M. - 8:15 P.M.

Central has booked Splashdown for a private party and we invite members of ALL ages to join in the fun! Ifyou want to float down Lazy River, brave the water slides, sit on the side and dip your feet in, or simply sit onthe deck and watch the fun, this is a great way to spend an almost end of summer afternoon! Join us Sunday, August 3rd at Splashdown located at Okatibbee Lake Water Park for an evening of fun,fellowship, food and LOTS of water!

Your only cost is $5.50 per person to get in.(to be paid at Splashdown) Central will provide hot dogs, sausagedogs, chips, drinks, and dessert.

If you are unsure of directions to Splashdown, maps will be available at our Crossing Information Centerbeginning this Sunday! We hope to see you there!

MISSIONS AND EVANGELISM

TUESDAY MORNING WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDYThe Tuesday morning Women’s Bible Study will resume August 5th with an introduction and welcomebreakfast from 9:30 - 11 a.m. at Central. Please join us! We will be studying Adam Hamilton’s new book “Making Sense of the Bible.”

“COFFEE WITH THE PASTORS”The next “CWTP” will be Sunday, August 24th at 10:30 a.m.

It will be held in the Wesley Room.

RAMP MINISTRYRAMP RECYCLING: Last Saturday, July 19th, a team of volunteers from Central UMC dismantled two ramps whichwill be used to meet future needs. Such recycling efforts reduce the cost of construction materials for the Ramp Ministry.The CUMC members contributing their time and labor were: Alan Brown, Jim Copeland, Randy Hammon, David Labutka,Blair Mitcham, Ben Rucks, and James Whitley. They were assisted by Charles Blake of Chunky UMC.

HELPING HANDS MINISTRYCentral now has a new ministry called “Helping Hands Ministry.” Blue request cards have been placed at theInformation Desk in the Crossing and the Church office. If you or someone you know is in need of some assistance ofany kind, please fill out a “Helping Hands” request card. Please return the cards to the Information Desk, any greeter,any staff person or the church office.

MISSION TRIP TO HAITI Central is endorsing a mission trip opportunity to the country of Haiti, which is being headed up by EthanBond and Jimmy Carle. The trip is scheduled for Dec. 7-12, 2014. We are looking for at least 16 volunteers.The team will be working alongside "BUT GOD" Ministries. If you are interested in being a part of thismission opportunity please fill out a sign up form that is found at the Central Information Desk in the Crossingor the Church Office. SPIRITUAL FORMATION & GROWTH

AUGUST 10TH IS A SPECIAL SUNDAY IN THE LIFE OF CENTRAL.

1st GRADE BIBLE PRESENTATION, BLESSING OF THEBACKPACKS, AND TEACHER RECOGNITION will take placeduring the 8:30 a.m. and 10:55 a.m. services.

This is also PROMOTION SUNDAY for our Children and Youth. Our up and coming 1st Graders will receivetheir Bibles and the congregation will once again be reminded of our vow to help in raising and nurturingthese children. All students will have the opportunity to bring their backpacks forward and receive a blessingfor the School Year. Our Teachers, both church and school, will also be recognized and prayed for duringthese services.

Following the 8:30 a.m. Worship Service, Pre-K and Elementary students will go to their old classes, and willbe picked up and taken to their new classes. (This is particularly important information for parents of studentscurrently in Kindergarten and 5th Grade. These students will be moving to a different floor!) UNDER CONSTRUCTIONUNDER CONSTRUCTION are words you may hear and see a lot of in the next few weeks as we begin an excitingnew era in the Central Nation. One thing we can tell you right away is, starting in September, one side of the fridgewill be for high school and the other side will be for middle/jr. high students. So keep your eyes and ears openas the world around us comes “Under Construction!!”

SENIOR ADULT MINISTRY

LUNCH BUNCH WILL MEET ON FRIDAY, JULY 25TH! We will have part 2 in the series titled, “Under Construction: Building a Strong Structure.” As Methodist,we emphasize the continual work of God’s Grace in our lives. No matter how young or old, we all should bestriving to go on to perfection. We meet in the Adult Activities room at 11:30 a.m. and the cost is $5.00.

On Friday, August 1st, Living Stones Youth Ministry from Lakewood UMC in Lake Odessa, MI. will beputting on a puppetry event at Central during our Lunch Bunch gathering. The Puppet Program will start at12:30 p.m.
