How did you attract/address your audience?

I did some research on Bauer Media as I want to find out how many people reads the ‘Closer’ magazines because it is a well known magazine . As you can see on the picture below, it shows that 36.3%(15-24 yrs. old) and 25.9%( 25-34 yrs. old) of people reads it which is a great amount of our target audience will see our advert on the magazine. After all of those research that was done, we altered our target audience to under 35 females which includes teens as well. And according to our research, the female gender our film is mostly aiming for because males aren't too interested in romance and emotional films.

In my opinion, the audience is an important thing in media as we need to know that we are targeting at the right person. Our target audience is for mainly teenagers above 15 and to people who likes our film. It is essential for us to find a perfect place where we can advertise our film for our target audience will more than likely see it.

When we finished considering at the statistics from the BBFC, we have to do a questionnaire to a person that fits our target audience. And the questions that I have asked her were what is the main thing they want and wouldn’t want to see in a romance film, etc. Then I found out that most of our target audience would love to see a happy ending like kissing at the end and hear the cute lines that a guy says to a girl which we have on our media product.

As a group we are certain to advertise our film in ‘Closer’ magazine as it is the top most magazines that are sold quickly and in YouTube for trailers as it is the most popular website for music and trailers video. Therefore, both of this place would be good to advertise our media product because of the amount of people it will appeal to.

We have to create our film opening interesting so it will attract our target audience and will make themselves to watch the whole film. At the start of our film, the couples are happy but we have sad backing music and narration all the way through. Then eventually when Scarlett was starting to act strange and Tom asked her what’s wrong, she just suddenly walk away from him which leaves Tom behind. We then placed our title at the top corner which is the enigma and makes the audience to think what is going to happen to their relationship. We attract the audience by understanding the conventions of romance genre and the feedback we had.
