So the son moved to the big city & he partied & wasted all his money. He soon found himself penni- less & hungry, working for a pig farmer. It was then that he thought about his father’s serv- ants & how they ate better than he did. He decided to go back home & ask his father to hire him as a servant. When the father saw his son coming back home he was overjoyed & ran to greet him. The father threw a big party to celebrate his son’s return. The son was not to be a servant in his father’s house, but returned as a son. We learned that when we mess up and sin we can go to Jesus & ‘Open Up’ about what we have done & know that He is faithful to forgive us no matter what we have done. In Luke 15 we see Jesus talk-ing to a group of people that in-

cluded both the Pharisees & “sinners”. The self-righteous Pharisees couldn’t under-stand why Jesus would associ-ate with the “sinners”, so Je-sus told a parable, which is a story that teaches a lesson. This parable was about a fa-ther & his two sons. The old-est son was content to stay on the farm & work and be obe-dient to the father. The youngest son decided he wanted his share of the inher-itance early so he could move to the city & live the wild life. The father let the younger son go as he wished, though it made him sad. So the son moved to the big city & he

partied & wasted all his money. He soon found himself penni-less & hungry, working for a pig farmer. It was then that he thought about his father’s serv-ants & how they ate better than he did.

This is how we ‘Join Up’

Quality Time!

Parents, here are some questions to ask your child to review today’s Bible story and verse:

At the beginning of the story, what did the younger son want from his father.

What happened to the younger son when his money was gone?

What did the father do when the son came home?

How does it feel to know you’ve been forgiven when you’ve done something wrong?

Thank You!
