“QUEST” (Qualifying Employability Skills Test) :
The Concept:
Finding a good employment opportunity is a great challenge for students.
Furthermore,
students also need a platform to differentiate them in order to get better profiles. On
the
other hand, finding Employable talent at the entry level is a big challenge for the
Employer
Organizations. In order to address these concerns, Timesjobs.com has launched a
program
QUEST to help the Employers hire, pre assessed final year Engineering and MCA
students from
campuses.
QUEST currently assesses students to determine their Learn ability (Aptitude) and Core Domain (Branch) skills. The branches covered through QUEST are Computer Science,
Civil
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical
Engineering,
Information Technology, and Master of Computer Applications (MCA). For instance a
Computer
Science student will go through a Learn ability Assessment and an assessment on
Computer
Science. Likewise, a Mechanical Engineering Student would undergo an assessment
on Learn
ability and Mechanical Engineering. QUEST is approved and recognized by
Timesjobs.com’s
select clients that have manpower requirements of Engineering and MCA
students.
Timesjobs.com would share QUEST’s scores of the pre assessed qualified students
with its
clients, to help source the desired talent that matches clients’ hiring criteria.
Timesjobs.com has collaborated with S Quotient Analyzers Pvt. Ltd a Noida based
organization
that focuses on Competence Benchmarking and Assessments for conducting these
assessments.
S Quotient comes with a vast experience of having conducted Assessments for
various
organizations in the IT, ITES, Financial Services, Telecom, Retail and Education
Segments.
QUEST would assess students of colleges pan India. Colleges and universities would be
chosen
pan India. Database of the pre assessed students would be available on
Timesjobs.com.
Timesjobs.com would help its clients, which would agree to hire students pre
assessed
through QUEST, with multiple modes of interfacing with qualified students of their
choice.
Clients would have the option of interfacing with students in college or at their
(client’s)
premises.
1. QUEST would be conducted online on Timesjobs.com. 2. Timesjobs.com would store QUEST scores in its database for 2 years from the
date of
conducting QUEST.
3. Timesjos.com would explore interview opportunity with its clients for students
short
listed through QUEST, only during the 1 month from the date of conducting
QUEST.
After the 1 month period, if Timesjobs.com clients wish to interview any short
listed
student (s), Timesjobs.com clients would contact them directly.
4. Timesjobs.com will ensure that minimum two organizations (Cybertech and
Socioffice) will visit campus on 23rd/Sept/2011. The criteria for students as well
as the company profile are
as shared with college in annexure 2.
Role & Obligations of: College/Institutions 1. Student Details of those who are registering to the event will be given
to Timesjobs.com team, well before for execution requirements.
Other terms and conditions: 1. It will be Times jobs Execution team who will collect the payment by DD only
drawn on the mane of “TIMES BUSINESS SOLUTIONS LTD. Payable at Delhi” of
the
amount of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) from individual candidate
before
allowing them to participate in QUEST.
2. No cheque or cash will be entertained. No credit to participating candidate or
college
will be granted.
3. Cases where college (s) or students are found to be involved in using unfair
means
during the assessment, Timesjobs.com or S Quotient reserves the right to
cancel the
assessment and forfeit any assessment fee paid. 4. The details of the test construct along with the sample questions are as
given in
annexure (A).
5. The sample questions are just to give an idea about the type of questions that
might
be asked during QUEST. They are not necessarily the exact type of questions
that will
be asked during QUEST.
6. QUEST’s results would be stored and displayed on Timesjobs.com after 2
weeks of
conducting QUEST.
7. To qualify in QUEST and to be eligible for interviews with Timesjobs.com’s
clients,
students need to score minimum 50% on QUEST.
8. QUEST scores would be valid for 3 months from the date of taking QUEST. Any
student
who wishes to retake QUEST to improve his/her score can take it only after 3
months
of taking QUEST initially.
9. Cases, where participating organization (s) asks short listed students to appear
for final
recruitment process at their office (s), it would be short listed students’
sole
responsibility to appear for the same on their own. 10. Participation in QUEST does not guarantee employment on its own. It is just
the initial
screening done on behalf of participating organization (s).
11. Timesjobs.com or S Quotient would not be responsible if any participating organization (s) decides to withdraw its participation for any reason at any time before,
during or after QUEST.
12. It would be prerogative of Timesjobs.com and S Quotient to specify the number
of
students to be assessed and the eligibility criteria for QUEST.

4. Take a look at the following piece of code snippet:
char *mystr = (char*)
malloc(100); free(mystr);
strcpy(mystr, ‘helloworld’);
The above code does the following:
Declare a character string variable ‘mystr’ and allocate 100
bytes Release the allocated memory
Copy a string literal to the variable ‘mystr’
Indicate what would be the output of the code given above, given that the ‘free’ function executes successfully and completely de-allocates the memory
allocated to ‘mystr’?
a) malloc is implicitly called and 100 bytes is allocated again, so code executes fine b) Even though ‘free’ function executes fine, it will keep aside 10% of
memory ( 10
bytes) for future, hence code works fine
c) The code will work fine provided the RAM in the programming environment
has got
some space left
d) The code will throw an error related to memory
