Queen’s currently has over 3,300 places in our student accommodation, which means you can take advantage of the most affordable, purpose-built student accommodation in the city. This guide will give you an insight into our various accommodation options to help you decide.
Queen’s city centre accommodation We know how important finding the right home is to your student experience. Our existing student housing at Elms BT9 has been applauded by our students for quality, cost and service.
Now, we’ve transported that safe, supportive and social environment to two city centre locations.
Elms BT1 and Elms BT2 are located just 15 minutes from Queen’s main campus and you’ll be neighbours with the vibrant city-centre nightlife, popular restaurants and local supermarkets.
You will be nestled in the middle of a fantastic coffee culture featuring some of Belfast’s most popular independent coffee shops.
Local grocery stores Spar, Centra and Tesco Express will also be on your doorstep, and Victoria Square (0.5mi), one of the city’s main retail hubs, is just a 10-minute stroll away.
Described by Lonely Planet as ‘a must see destination’, Belfast is a top European destination and is one of Europe’s most friendly and fashionable capitals. It is a compact city that is easy and safe to explore.

Elms BT9 and Queen’s Houses
Elms BT9 is purpose-built for students, offering a range of modern, comfortable and secure accommodation. Set in a residential location, there are 50 three-storeyed accommodation blocks. Each floor has 10-11 bedrooms with a shared common room and kitchen.
Queen’s Houses offer students a more independent style of living and are conveniently located around the main campus. Accommodation is in a range of Standard Room types in Mount Charles, College Gardens, Grant House and 76 Malone Road.

Willow Walk
Willow Walk is purpose-built accommodation ideally suited to the needs of international and postgraduate students. Willow Walk is located in an enclosed development on the perimeter of Elms BT9 and everything you need is within walking distance (Queen’s Main Site, Queen’s Sport, McClay Library, Queen’s Students’ Union).

Residential life team
Your welfare and safety is our main priority and we have pastoral support and a 24/7 Safety Team.
There are four Residential Life Coordinators and a team of 24 Residential Assistants who live in Elms BT9, Mount Charles and Elms BT1 and BT2.
Our Residential Life Coordinators and Residential Assistants are able to offer support if you feel lonely or homesick or need encouragement to join in social events to make new friends.
They also organise and promote a weekly programme of social events and trips throughout each semester.
At Queen’s University Belfast we offer an Easy Pay system where cash can be loaded on to your student card which can then be used to pay for food from our catering partners across campus. This includes Clements (PEC and MBC), Cafe Krem (ECIT and DKB), Junction in the School of Law and Hope in the McClay Library.
