Case - The WarYou’ve got the job as analysts, working directly under the CEO at Telia. The board is stressing to the CEO everyday that Telia has to gain market shares in what is said to be the future market trend; streaming services. Although, the competition has grown tough in Sweden and Telia is struggling. Costs have soared and the CEO has realised that one of the actors on the market will file for bankruptcy in the near future.

So far the service constitute a relatively small share of both Telia’s accumulated product portfolio and its turnover. This is why the CEO hasn’t given the service its full attention, until now, when he has to handle the pressure from the board. The product manager only gives the CEO positive reviews regarding the future potential on streaming services and the CEO now want a balanced picture of the situation.

As analysts you have received the task from the CEO to answer whether Telia should continue to focus on streaming services or change its strategy. Your result is to be presented to the CEO at the next board meeting on March 18th.
