WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNIQUES

FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS

PRODUCT?QUESTION 6

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS3ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR CS3Adobe Photoshop is the main form of technology I used to construct my magazine pages. I used this to construct the layout, edit images and to create the over all product. Prior to media studies I had no experience using Adobe software and took time to understand and get to grips with how to use the software. Once I was confident I was able to then watch tutorials or follow guidance to create more intriguing designs that would make my magazine look marketable.

On each page of my magazine I used Photoshop to make the images seem professional and also editing any faults in the image. For example, on my cover page the main image overlaps the text, I did this by using the selection tool to cut around the image. I also use the brushes to create a ‘glow’ or ‘flares’. In terms of editing images I used the pen tool and ‘fix’ or change the colour of the skin or hair of the models.

This print screen shows the process of cutting my main image. I used the selection tool and laid it over the masthead to create a professional appearance to the cover page of the magazine. I then used the clone tool to over any white lines that were created around the image from when I moved the image upwards. To make sure that the image selection looked professional and the image was not faulted I zoomed into the image and slowly selected around the models heads and bodies. Once finished selecting, the line starts to flash to show that the selection is active, I then made sure the image selection was inversed and moved the image the position I wanted it to be.

White Lines appeared around the images.

Then I used the clone stamp tool to get rid of the white lines.

This is the images after the clone stamp, the white lines have been filled.
