WAYS TO CHANGE A NOUN FROM SINGULAR

TO PLURAL

RULE #1For most nouns, the plural is formed simply by adding an s.

Examples:

Singular Plural•car cars•dog dogs•book books

RULE #2For nouns that end in s, x, sh, or ch, the plural is formed by adding an es.Examples:

Singular Plural•bus buses•tax taxes•dish dishes•couch couches

RULE #3For nouns that end in a consonant and a y, the plural is formed by changing the y to i adding an es.
