. Have you wondered how the ancient Egyptian built pyramids

When ancient Egypt just started, they were built by mounds. They

also built pyramids out of mud from Nile River. Once they got better

at building pyramids, they built pyramids out of rocks, bricks, and

limestone. They used a lot of men to pull bricks so they could use

them to build the pyramid. There were more than 20,000 pyramid

builders. The slaves/servants built the pyramid mostly out of solid

rock. They used a lot of ramps for the slaves/servants to pull stones,

rocks, and bricks. The ramps were spiral because it was the easiest.

Sometimes they built wood inside pyramids. Lastly, they used red,

orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and pink tiles on the inside of a

pyramid. Now you know how the ancient Egyptians built pyramids.

Have you ever wondered about the Great Pyramid of Khufu

[Giza]? The Great Pyramid of Khufu can also be called The Great

Pyramid of Giza. This pyramid was constructed in 2589 BCE. Each of

the sides is 755 ft. [230 m.] long. There are a total of 2,300,000

blocks, and every single one of the blocks weighed as much as 2.5

tons [as much as 2 Elephants combined]! Instead of rectangular

pillars to protect the pyramid, they used Mastaba tombs [they are

stronger and higher than rectangular pillars]. The Great Pyramid of

Khufu is as tall as the St. Peter’s Cathedral in Rome, Italy. In modern

times, since there is so much pollution, its limestone is almost falling

off. The Great Pyramid of Khufu was the tallest structure for 4,300

years, until the Eiffel Tower got constructed in 1889. Now you know

facts about the Great Pyramid of Khufu.

Have you ever wondered why Queens get the smaller pyramids

than Kings? There are about 80 total pyramids in Egypt, and all of

them were constructed on the west bank of the Nile River. There are

more than 90 pyramids today. The smallest and first pyramid is the

Great Step Pyramid of Saqqara. The Great Step pyramid of Saqqara

has rectangular pillars to protect the pyramid. The largest Pyramid is

the Great Pyramid of Khufu, standing 485 ft. tall!!! Snefru’s family

was buried in two pyramids (Red Pyramid and Snefru’s Pyramid]. In

ancient Egyptian times, the smaller pyramids were for Queen

Pharaohs and bigger pyramids were for King Pharaohs. There are

houses to protect the pyramid too [if they get over the rectangular

pillars]. Now you know other interesting facts about pyramids.

Now you know about how they built the pyramid, what’s inside,

The Great Pyramid of Khufu [Giza], and other fun facts about
