Employing e x t r a c t i o n t e m p e r a t u r e sof 8 3 C . or more would , of c o u r s e , r e s u l t i n l o s s ofs o l v e n t t h r o u g hv o l a t i l i z a t i o n .

    The e x t r a c t i o n t i m e may v a r y c o n s i d e r a b l y ,e . g .from1 t o 24 h o u r s , d ep en d i n g u p o n t h e s i z e o f t h e l i t h i u mc h l o r i d e ( s a l t )p a r t i c l e s ,a g i t a t i o n r a t e a n d s o l v e n t t e mp e r a t u r e . G e n e r a l l y good r e s u l t s c a n b e o b t a i n e d b ys l u r r y i n g t h e s a l ti n t h e i s o p r o p a n o lw i t h g o o da g i t a t i o nf o r a p e r i o d o f abou t 3 h o u r s .
