The event, hosted by the Denham Springs Athletic Association, is set for 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 1 at Forest Grove Plantation in Denham Springs. Tickets will be sold for $75 per person on a first-come, first- serve basis. Since a capacity crowd of 300 is anticipat- ed, the public is encouraged to purchase tickets early. For additional ticket information, contact the school office at (225) 665-8851. Neighbors FCU Jamboree at Walker The Neighbors Federal Credit Union Jamboree will be at Walker Friday, Aug. 26, with the following games starting at 6 p.m.: Albany Junior Varsity vs. Walker Junior Varsity, Albany vs. Mt. Hermon, Walker vs. Pine. The varsity games will consist of two 15 minute halves. Admission is $5 for advance tickets, $6 at the gate. Southern Spice Softball tryouts Southern Spice 16U softball tryouts will be Sunday, Aug. 21, at 1 p.m. at Live Oak Ball Park Field 3. For more information, contact David Anthony at 225-315- 3341 or Dwain Rand at 225-610-6024. Mens basketball tournament at WHS Walker High School will host a men’s basketball tournament Oct. 20-23 with proceeds to benefit the Walker High School Girls Soccer team. Entry is limited to the first 24 teams. The entry fee is $150 per team and each team is guaranteed a minimum of two games in the double-elimination event. The event will use high school officials. First through 5th place teams will get trophies and individual trophies will be awarded members of the first, second and third-place teams. For information contact Mike Lockhart at 225- 268-9783. Bayou Beast Baseball 12U tryouts The Bayou Beast Baseball 12UAA tournament team will be holding try outs for the 2012 Fall/Spring sea- son at the Livingston Ball Park in Livingston, on Aug. 27 at 11 a.m. The Livingston Parish based team and will be playing four tournaments in the Fall and 12-14 in the Spring/Summer of 2012 including state/world series. The Wolves will play 20 to 30 games in the fall and 50 to 70 games in the spring, traveling up to 150 miles outside of Baton Rouge. There is no sign up fee and uniforms, bat bags, helmets and cleats are provided free. Tryouts are August 27 at Live Oak Ball Park at 2 p.m. Contact Kris Clark at 225-678-0028 for further details.
