The results: Due to strong community interest in having a dog park in Altona Meadows, from late October 2018 to early January 2019, Council consulted with the community about a proposed fully fenced area in which dogs can run leash-free at Altona Meadows Community Park. The proposed zone is in the southern section of the park located between Docker Court and Woodyard Court. Valuable insights from the local community was captured in several ways during the consultation period including survey forms, Council’s Facebook, emails and conversations with officers at the drop in session in November 2018. All feedback received informed the final concept plan. A summary of the feedback is provided below. SURVEY RESULTS Council received 125 survey responses to the seven question survey - 68 responses were posted to Council and 57 were submitted via our participate platform. The survey results showed: that a majority of participants use Altona Meadows Community Park more than once a week and live nearby 43.5 per cent of participants are aged 50 or above 44.4 per cent of participants are aged between 30 and 50 the most popular use of the Altona Meadows Community Park is to go for a walk, another popular reasons to visit the park is to use the playground and the fitness equipment No Yes 68.8% 31.2% Council asked: Would you like a dog park at Altona Meadows Community Park?
