Proofs from Quran and hadiths that Prophet (saw) is Noor (nur or light) and Human being both

[green] DIFFERNT NOORS MENTIONED IN THE HOLY QURAN [/green] Noor of Muhammad () ******************************************************************************** [blue] Indeed, there has come to you from Allh a noor (Prophet Muhammad ( )) and a plain Book (this Qur'n)[/blue]. (5:15) ******************************************************************************** Noor of Muslims ******************************************************************************** Quran 39:22.[blue] Is he whose breast Allh has opened to Islm, so that he is in noor from His Lord [/blue] Quran 24:40[blue] And he for whom Allh has not appointed noor, for him there is no noor[/blue] Quran 57:13. [blue]On the Day when the hypocrites men and women will say to the believers: "Wait for us! Let us get something from your noor.......!" , Noor of Sun, Star, Moon ******************************************************************************** quran 10:5.[blue] It is He Who made the sun a shining thing and the moon as a noor.... [/blue] Quran 25: 61.[blue] Blessed be He Who has placed in the heaven big stars, and has placed therein a great lamp (sun), and a moon giving noor. [/blue] Quran 71:16[blue]. And has made the moon a noor therein, and made the sun a lamp? [/blue] ******************************************************************************** These All noors are different from one another. And cannot be compared. Also added light of angels IS DIFFERENT FROM All mentioned above,

, first i want to clear one point...

PROPHET MUHAMMAD ( ) is a human being....but not a human beings like us... , so PROPHET MUHAMMAD SAW is a human beings and NOOR both... now lets us say whats the quran says about PROPHET MYUHAMMAD ( ) as a human being human being quran says , [blue]"Say, "If there were settled, on earth, angels walking about in peace and quiet, We should certainly have sent them down from the heavens an angel for an apostle.[/blue] , so PROPHET ( ) is a human being because he is sent to the nation of Human beings...ALLAH is saying that PROPHETs are human beings...andf we didnt sent angels but human beings...because THEY A.S are sent to the nation of humans, not angels.. , quran says [blue]" Say: "Glory to my Lord! Am I aught but a man,- a messenger?" [/blue] , i agree with the above verse which says that PROPHET ( ) is a human being....but the next verse says quran says [red] What kept men back from belief when Guidance came to them, [/red]was nothing but this: they said, [red]"Has Allah sent a man (like us) to be (His) Messenger?" [/red] [/blue] , but PROPHET MUHAMMAD ( ) was not a normal human being like us....just as stones and diamonds are not equal...similar is the case with PROPHET ( ) and other human beings..... , only[red] kafirs[/red] used to say that PROPHET is a human beings like us.... HE ( ) is not like us...HE ( ) is a human but infinite times higher in status, intelligence, piouness and many other qualities...

[blue]Prophet (saw) as a human being , quran again says 021.008[red]

, Nor did We give them bodies that ate no food, nor were they exempt from death[/red] , The above sverse also probves that PROPHET SAW is a messenger, but a messenger is not a ordinary human being like us, sunnis agree that PROPHET MUHAMMAD SAW is a human beings...and a noor both... no person says that PROPHET MUHAMMAD SAW is not a human being, and no one can say that PROPHET MUHAMMAD SAW is not a NOOR....HE is both... , quran again says... Surah Al An'am {6} Verse 91: "No just estimate of Allah do they make when they say: [red]"Nothing doth Allah send down to man (by way of revelation)" Say: "Who then sent down the Book which Moses brought?- a light and guidance to man: But ye make it into (separate) sheets for show, while ye conceal much (of its contents): therein were ye taught that which ye knew not- neither ye nor your fathers." Say: "(Allah) (sent it down)": Then leave them to plunge in vain discourse and trifling."[/blue] [/blue] , above verse is again a proof that only nonmuslims claimed that PROPHET A.S were not man,or cannot be human beings...and that they dont accept human beings as prophets a.sif some one quotes...

if some one quotes on Prophet (Saw) being a human from quran [blue] "Their apostles said to them: "True, we are human like yourselves, but Allah doth grant His grace to such of his servants as He pleases. It is not for us to bring you an authority except as Allah permits. And on Allah let all men of faith put their trust".[/blue] (Ayah:11) In Surah Al-Anbian Allah says: [blue] "Their hearts toying as with trifles. The wrong-doers conceal their private counsels, (saying), "Is this (one)more than a man like yourselves? Will ye go to witchcraft with your eyes open?"[/blue][ (quran Ayah:3)

Sunnis agree...PROHPET ( ) was a human being, but not a normal human being like us....As said by KAFIRs in the above , **************************************** , another quranioc verse Surah Fussi'lat {41} Verse 44: [blue] "Had We sent this as a Qur'an (in the language) other than ARABIC, they would have said: "Why are not its verses explained in detail? What! (a Book) not in Arabic and (a Messenger} an Arab?" Say: "It is a Guide and a Healing to those who believe; and for those who believe not, there is a deafness in their ears, and it is blindness in their (eyes): They are (as it were) being called from a place far distant!"[/blue] [/blue] the KAfirs used to say that PROPHET MUHAMMAD ( ) was a normal human being like them thats why they dont belive in HIM ( ) as a prophet .... [red]saying [blue]Prophet Muhammad (/[) blue] is like us also means that we are like Him(( ) Naoozbila)[/red]

again in Quran 025.007[blue] And they say: "What sort of a messenger is this, who eats food, and walks through the streets? Why has not an angel been sent down to him to give admonition with him? [/blue] [red] THe kafirs/munafiqs said the PROpHETS are just human beings like them...[/red] ****************************************** Q:why did ALLAH sent PROPHET MUHAMMAD SAW as human being if HE SAW was NOOR ANSWER

quran says... , 017.095[blue] Say, "If there were settled, on earth, angels walking about in peace and quiet, We should certainly have sent them down from the heavens an angel for a messenger." [/blue] SO PROPHET MUHAMMAD SAW was sent as a sent being because HE SAW was sent to a nation of HUMANS.... , Q:why did PROPHET MUHAMMAD SAW had wives, children, used to eat, used to walk and did other human activites...... ANSWER , quran sates 064.012[blue] So obey Allah, and obey His Messenger: but if ye turn back, the duty of Our Messenger is but to proclaim (the Message) clearly and openly. [/blue] , again quran states.. , [blue]008.020 O ye who believe! Obey Allah and His Messenger, and turn not away from him when ye hear (him speak). [/blue][/blue]

********************************************* now[red] HOW CAN WE OBEY THE MESSENGER OF ALLAH() [/red] [blue] The Prophet (SAW): I leave behind me two things. You will never go astray if you hold fast to them: The Qur'an and my Sunnah.[/blue] quran says ********************************************* [blue] Undoubtedly, you have the best in the following of the Messenger( , ) for him who hopes for Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much. [/blue](33:21) ********************************************* THE SUNNAH was created because of the actions of PROPHET MUHAMMAD ( ...)

there are 1000s of sunnahs ,which include walking, sleeping, eating, doing business and behaviour which should be an example for us... [blue] if PROPHET MUHAMMAD ( ) was not sent as a human being then it would be difficult for us ,as human beings to know how to follow the sunnah[/blue]....and how to make quran practical Every saying and action of Prophet MUHAMMAD ( ,) every situation where he approved of an action or saying by someone else, and his personal traits and manner are sunnahs.....

[green] [/green] status of PROPHET MUHAMMAD( ) in the quran [green] [/green] ********************************************* quran :048.009[blue] In order that ye (O men) may believe in Allah and His Messenger, that ye may assist and honour Him, and celebrate His praise morning and evening. [/blue][/blue] ********************************************* in above verse ALLAH is asking to PRAISE PROPHET MUHAMMAD ( ) during morinng and evening with extent... ****************************************** durood on prophet MUHAMMAD (/[ ) b] [blue] Almighty Allah says: "Surely Allah and His Angels send blessings on the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallim). O you who believe! Send Blessings (Durood) and Salutations (Salaams) on the Prophet with worthy Salutation".(Surah al-Ahzab: 56)[/blue]

****************************************** no other messenger is given so much RESPECT where ALLAH is ordering to send blessings on PROPHET MUHAMMAD (... ) ********************************************** Miraj PROHPET MUHAMMAD ( ) was sent on miraj and met ALLAH HIM saw HIM ,no other creation of ALLAH was so much blessed as the PROPHET() .And This also indicates the status of PROPHET (,) after crossing the muqam of [blue]SIRATUL MUNTAHA [/BLUE] where tajaliat of Allah unveil and where No other creation has ever went. *********************************************

[green] OBEDIENCE OF PROPHET () IS OBEDIENCE OF ALLAH [/green] [blue] Whoever obeys the Messenger has obeyed God. If anyone turns away, we did not send you to them as their keeper.] [/blue](An-Nisaa' 4:80) [purple], Whoever obeys God and the Messenger will be with those whom God has blessed: ........[/purple](An-Nisaa' 4:69) , [blue] "And obey Allah and the Messenger, that ye may obtain mercy."[/blue] (3:132) ,[green] "He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah."[/green] (4:80) ,[navy] "Say: If ye do love Allah, follow me: Allah will love you and forgive you sins."[/navy] (3:31) ,

[green] [/green] [blue]PROPHET SAW is[blue] NOOR/light[/blue] according to quran and hadiths[blue] [green] [/green] [red] PROOF 1 [/red] [/blue] Quran says : [blue] We sent you not but as a mercy for all the worlds."[/blue] (Holy Qur'an, 21:107) above quranic verse is saying...mercy for all the worlds...not mercy only for UMMAH OF PROPHET MUHAMMAD (..... ) this clearly proves that PROHPET MUHAMMAD ( ) is mercy for angels...animals and all worlds....it clearly indicates that HE ( ) is noor from which this universe is made, ...

EXPLAINING THE ABOVE VERSE MORE ******************************************** surah fatiha,1:2 says[blue] 2 'lamdu lil:ahi rab:i 'lalamiyna # All praise unto Allah, Lord of all the worlds.[/blue] ********************************************

here above the word lalamiyna , /[ b]means [blue]ALL WORLDS[/blue] that ALLAH is the master and lord of ALLAH worlds,,,which which ALL animals are included ********************************************[blue] ALL oceans, muntains, deserts, planats trees moon, starts, sun, planets and every thing is included angels, jins, and all other creations of this entire universe are included microscopic particles,Eletrons, atoms, neutrons, photons, etc EVERY single thing in the universe[/blue] ******************************************** hope every one agrees with this but then i found this verse of 21:Al-Anbiy`(The Prophets)verse 107 [blue] ******************************************** 107 wama' 'arsalnaka 'il:a' ramatanm l:ilalamiyna # And We sent not you, but a mercy for all worlds. [/blue] ******************************************** in the above verse it is said that PROPHET MUHAMMAD SAW is the mercy for all worlds here above the word lalamiyna , /[ b]means [blue]ALL WORLDS[/blue] so PROPHET MUHAMMAD(saw) is declaired as mercy for all world in the quran, this also means that PROPHET MUHAMMAD(saw) is mercy on [blue]********************************************[blue] ALL animals are included, ALL oceans, muntains, deserts, planats trees, moon, starts, sun, planets and every thing is included, angels, jins, and all other creations of this entire universe are included microscopic particles,Eletrons, atoms, neutrons, photons, etc EVERY single thing in the universe[/blue] ********************************************

This is only possible if PROPHET MUHAMMAD ( ) is the Noor from which the heaven and the earths are made, or those who reject it are [red]rejecting quran [/red] [red]PROOF 2 [/red] , [blue] "We have not sent you but as a Messenger to all mankind, giving them glad tidings, and warning them (against sin), but most of men know not." [/blue](Holy Qur'an, 34:28) Above verse again says MANKIND which includes are the humans beings of all times , either Quran is in error (astigfiraullah ) or PROPHET( ) IS NOOR , Allamah Suyuti (rahmatullah aleh) quotes , the hadith of Hazrat Zakwaan Tabi'ee (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu) [blue] "Ibn Saba' said that it is a uniqueness of the Prophet () that he did not have a shadow because he was made from Noor. And when he used to walk in the light of the sun or the moon, his shadow was not apparent[/blue] [blue] light can only paas through ligth[/blue]....so it proves that as AQAH KARIM () had no shadow HE ( ) is NOOR ,

[red]PROOF 3[/red] Quran says { } ,[blue]

'O people of the Book! Undoubtedly, Our Messenger has come to you who makes clear to you much of that which you had hidden in the Book and pardons much. Undoubtedly, there has come to you from Allah a[green] light[/green] and a Book, luminous. [/blue](quran 5:15)] Here the light is mentioning PROPHET MUHAMMAD (, ) some may argue that sunni give their own meaning to this verse and the word light doesnt means PROPHET MUHAMMAD (/[ ) b] So lets see what the Sahabi ( ) and uncle of PROPHET MUHAMMAD ( )HADRAT IBN E ABBAS ( ) has to say about the the verse [:)] , TAFSIR IBN E ABBAS(/[) B] SAYS ,[blue] O People of Scripture, Jews and Christians, now there has come to you Our Messenger, Muhammad (s), making clear to you much of what you used to conceal of the Scripture, the Torah and the Gospel, such as the stoning verse and the description [of the Prophet Muhammad (s)], and pardoning much, of it, which he does not reveal, since this would not be of any benefit, serving only to disgrace you. [red]There has verily come to you from God a light, namely, [teal]the Prophet (s),[/teal] [/red]and a Book, a Qurn, lucid, plain and manifest, [/blue]m ABove Allah in his book and a SAHABI ( ) of ALLAH is saying that PROPHET MUHAMMAD ( ) is the Light which came from Allah(noor of Allah) , What is left [:)]

[blue]Arabic of EXACT tafseer ibn e ABBAS (RA) says , Hadrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas (RA) explaines the Parable of Allahs Nur as: , , [red]The Parable of Allahs Nur is Nur of Muhammad (Salallaho alaihi wasalam) which was present in the loins of his forefathers [/red], , [Tanwir al Miqbas, Min Tafsir Ibn Abbas, Page No. 376, Published by Maktaba al Asriyyah, Beirut, Lebanon]

, Hence Prophet (saw) is without any shadow of doubt a Nur Ullah and here Allah is calling himself Nur of heavens and the earth, hence Tafsir Ibn Abbas (ra) says Nur of Prophet (saw) was present in loins of his forefathers, which completly prove that Prophet (saw) was actual and real Nur, there are many ahadith which Prove this, but for meanwhile this is enough , classical scholars, imams have to say about it then , Suyuti said in al-Riyad al-aniqa: Ibn Jubayr and Ka`b al-Ahbar said: [blue] "What is meant by the second light is the Prophet because he is the Messenger and the Expositor and the Conveyor from Allah of what is enlightening and manifest." Ka`b said: "Its oil wellnigh would shine because the Prophet wellnigh would be known to the people even if he did not say that he was a Prophet, just as that oil would send forth light without a fire." [/blue], Ibn Kathir comments on this verse in his Tafsir by citing the report through Ibn `Atiyya whereby Ka`b al-Ahbar explained Allah's words: yakadu zaytuha yudi'u wa law lam tamsashu nar as meaning: "Muhammad is nearly manifest as a Prophet to people, even if he did not declare it."

Qadi `Iyad said in al-Shifa' (English p. 135): Niftawayh said regarding the words of Allah: [blue]"Its oil almost gives light when no fire has touched it" (24:35): "This is the likeness that Allah has made of His Prophet. He said that the meaning of [red]the ayat was that this face almost indicated his Prophethood even before he had received the Qur'an,[/red][/blue] as Ibn Rawaha said: [/blue],[blue]

Even if there had not been clear signs among us, His face would have told you the news." [/blue] ****************************** , Among those who said that the meaning of mathalu nurihi --[red] the likeness of His Light -- is the Prophet Muhammad, upon him blessings and peace: [/red], 1 Ibn Jarir al-Tabari in his Tafsir (18:95), , 2 Qadi `Iyad in al-Shifa', al-Baghawi in Ma`alim al-Tanzil (5:63) in the margin of al-Khazin, , 3 from Sa`id ibn Hubayr and al-Dahhak, al-Khazin in his Tafsir [(5:63 , 4 Suyuti in al-Durr al-manthur (5:49), , 5 Zarqani in Sharh al-mawahib (3:171), , 6 al-Khafaji in Nasim al-riyad (1:110, 2:449), al-Nisaburi in Ghara'ib al-Qur'an (18:93) said[blue]: "The Prophet is a light and a light-giving lamp." [/blue], al-Qari in Sharh al-shifa' said: "The most apparent meaning is to say that what is

, More authentic Tafsirs of imams on above verse of Quran ,[red] There has come to you a Light from Allah, and a Manifest Book" [/red](Quran 5:15) , In this the word Light has been explained by a number of classic Quranic exegetes as follows: , (Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti:) interpreting Nur "It is the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace)" (Tafsir al-Jalalayn, 139) , { { , Sayyid Mahmud al-Alusi in his commentary entitled[blue] Tafsir Ruh al-Ma`ani (6:97)[/blue] says: [red]"There has come to you a Light from Allah: that is, an immense light which is the Light of Lights and the Elect among all Prophets, Blessings and peace upon him."[/red] [Al-Alusi in Ruh ul Mani under 5:15]

, Isma`il al-Haqqi in his supercommentary on Alusi entitled Tafsir ruh al-bayan (2:370) similarly said: "There has come to you a Light from Allah and a Book that makes all things manifest:[red] It is said that the meaning of the former is the Messenger, Blessings and peace upon him, and the latter is the Qur'an... The Messenger is called a Light because the first thing which Allah brought forth from the darkness of oblivion with the light of His power was the light of Muhammad,[/red] Blessings and peace upon him, as he (the Prophet) said: [blue]The first thing Allah created is my light."[/blue] , (Ibn Jarir al-Tabari:) [red]"By Light He means Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace), [/red]through whom Allah has illuminated the truth, manifested Islam, and obliterated polytheism; since he is a light for whoever seeks illumination from him, which makes plain the truth" (Jami al-bayan, 6.161) , (Fakhr al-Razi:) "There are various positions about it[red], the first being that the Light is Muhammad,[/red] and the Book is the Quran " (al-Tafsir al-kabir, 11:194). ,

, More authentic Tafsirs of imams on above verse of Quran , Imam Ahmad al-Sawi similarly said in his supercommen-tary on Tafsir al-Jalalayn (1:258): "There has come to you a Light from Allah: that Light is the Prophet, Blessings and peace upon him. [red]He was named a light because he enlightens the sight and guides it to the correct path; and also because he is the root of every light whether material or spiritual.[/red]" We will return to the latter statement below insha Allah.

, Ali al-Qari said in his Sharh al-Shifa (1:505) in commenting upon the Prophet's title "as a Lamp spreading Light" (33: 46): ,[red] Muhammad(salallaho alaihi wasalam) is a tremendous light and the source of all lights[/red] sirajan muniran means a luminous sun, because of His saying: "[blue]He hath placed therein a great lamp and a moon giving light" [/blue](Quran 25:61) ,There is in this verse an indication that the sun is the highest of the material lights and that other lights are outpourings from it:[red] similarly the Prophet is the highest of the spiritual lights and other lights are derived from him by virtue of his mediating connection and pivotal rank in the overall sphere of creation[/red]. This is also inferred from the tradition: [red]"The first thing Allah created is my light." [/red] ,

[red] PROOF 3: From Quran[/red] , Quran states: [blue]God is the Light of the heavens and the earth. [/blue][red]The Parable of His Light is as if there were a Niche and within it a Lamp: the Lamp enclosed in Glass: the glass as it were a brilliant star: Lit from a blessed Tree, an Olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil is well-nigh luminous, though fire scarce touched it: Light upon Light! God doth guide whom He will to His Light: God doth set forth Parables for men: and God doth know all things.(24:35) , Hadrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas (RA) explains the Parable of Allahs Nur as ,[green] [/green]

[red] The Similitude of Allahs Nur is Nur of Muhammad (Salallaho alaihi wasalam) which was present in the loins of his forefathers[/red] [Tanwir al Miqbas, Min Tafsir Ibn Abbas, Page No. 376, Published by Maktaba al Asriyyah, Beirut, Lebanon] , , Qadhi Iyad (Rahimuhullah) explains in detail in his maginificent work of Seerah called Ash-Shifa [green] : 35 . ] ] / 42 : . : : : : . :

[green] . : ] 15 ] / 5 : 46 ] : * ] / 33 : 54 , [/green] [blue]Allah says: Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth; a likeness of His light is as a niche in which is a lamp, the lamp is in a glass, (and) the glass is as it were a brightly shining star, lit from a blessed olive-tree, neither eastern nor western, the oil whereof almost gives light though fire touch it not-- light upon light-- Allah guides to His light whom He pleases, and Allah sets forth parables for men, and Allah is Cognizant of all things.(Surah Nur, 25. Ayah 35)[/blue] , Kab al-Ahbar (ra) and Ibn Jubayr (ra) said: [red]By the second light He means Muhammad (Peace be upon him). Allah said The Likness of his light this refers to the Nur of Muhammad (Salallaho alaihi wasalam)[/red]

, Sahl bin Abdullah (ra) said that it means that Allah is the guide of creation in heavens and the earth, he then said[red]: Like the Light of Muhammad (Peace be upon him) when it is lodged in the loins (of his forefathers) like a niche. By the Lamp he means his heart. The glass is his breast.[/red] It is as if it were a glittering star because of the belief and wisdom it contains, kindled from a blessed tree, i.e. from the light of Ibrahim (a.s). He makes a comparison with the blessed tree and He says: [red]Its oil would nearly shine i.e. Muhammad (salallaho alaihi wasalam)s prophecy is evident to the people even before he speaks just like the oil.[/red]

A lot more is said about this ayat, and Allah knows the best about it,[red] elsewhere in the Quran Allah calls his Prophet (salallaho alaihi wasalam) a Light and a LIGHT GIVING LAMP. He says: A Light and a clear book have come to you from Allah[/red] (Quran 5:15), Allah also says: We sent you as a witness, a barrier or glad tidings and a warner, one who calls to Allah with his permission[red] and a Light-giving Lamp [/red](Quran 33:46) ,[Ash-Shifa bi Tarif al Haquq al Mustafa, Page No. 6] , End Quote from Ash-Shifa

Imam Ibn Kathir (rah) says under this ayah

, : : : : } { , , Kab al-Ahbar (ra) in explaining[red] {whose oil is well-nigh luminous} said: It is an (example of) Muhammad (salallaho alaihi wasalam) i.e. [/red]He is evident to people as Prophet even if he had not declared his Nabuwah, just like the olive oil glows even without being lit [Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Volume No.3, Page No. 490, under 24:35] ,[blue] Imam Baghwi (Rahimuhullah) explains: ,[green] { : : : } : . [/green], [red]Some (scholars) said: This similitude refers to Nur of Muhammad (salallaho alaihi wasalam), [/red]Ibn Abbas (ra) asked Kab al-Ahbar (ra) to explain Similitude of Nur, at which he replied: Allah has mentioned his Prophet (Peace be upon him) as a parable in this ayah, Mishkat refers to the chest of Prophet (saw), Glass refers to his heart, and Misbah refers to his Nabuwah and the wording whose oil is well-nigh luminous means that even if Prophet (saw)had not declared himself a [red]Prophet still his (Nur) would have glowed proving to people that he is a Nabi [/red] , [Malim at Tanzil by Imam Baghawi, Under 24:35] ,

[blue] ***Qadhi Thana Ullah Panipatti (Rahimuhullah)*** said: , The explanation of Kab al-Ahbar (ra) is outstanding in my sight, without any doubt [red]this was the state held by Nur of Muhammad [/redd](salallaho alaihi wasalam), I will mention some incidents which took place before him being appointed as a Prophet, [blue]The Mother of Prophet (saw) explained that she during her Haml saw a dream that a Nur emerged from her, due to which city of Basra and places in Syria got illuminated, then right after birth you (Prophet saw) raised your heard towards the sky[/blue]

[blue]Hence Nur will be explained by considering Mudhaaf as Mahdhoof i.e. Allah is going to grant the heavens and the earth his Nur[/blue] [Tafsir al Mazhari Volume No. 8, Page No. 244]

What the great scholars have to say about this subject: [blue] [green] 1. Hazrat Imam-e-Azam Abu Hanifa (radi Allahu anhu) /green] praises the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) in the following poem: "You are that Noor that the full Moon is brightened by your Noor and you are with your beauty and elegance a shining sun." (Qasidaul Nu'maan) [green] 2. [blue]"And what is that in the right hand, O Moses?" {18.} He said, "It is my rod: on it I lean; with it I beat down fodder for my flocks; and in it I find other uses." {19.} ((Allah)) said, "Throw it, O Moses!" {20.} He threw it, and behold! It was a snake, active in motion. {21.} ((Allah)) said, "Seize it, and fear not: We shall return it at once to its former condition." [blue] Surah Ta Ha {20} Verses: {65.} "They said: "O Moses! whether wilt thou that thou throw (first) or that we be the first to throw?" {66.} He said, "Nay, throw ye first!" Then behold their ropes and their rods-so it seemed to him on account of their magic - began to be in lively motion!{ 67.} So Moses conceived in his mind a (sort of) fear. {68.} We said: "Fear not! for thou hast indeed the upper hand: {69.} "Throw that which is in thy right hand: Quickly will it swallow up that which they have faked what they have faked is but a magician's trick: and the magician thrives not, (no matter) where he goes." Surah An-Naml {27} Verse 10: "Now do thou throw thy rod!" But when he saw it moving (of its own accord)as if it had been a SNAKE, he turned back in retreat, and retraced not his steps: "O Moses!" (it was said), "Fear not: truly, in My presence, those called as apostles have no fear." [blue] Al Qasas {28} Verse 31: "Now do thou throw thy rod!" but when he saw it moving (of its own accord) as if it had been a SNAKE, he turned back in retreat, [/blue][/blue] THe above snake..was a rod.with the order of ALLAH,it converted into snake.. this snake was a real snake made by ALLAH. its used to eat, drink and was a living creature when it was a rod.it never eated or drinked any thnig.because it was living at that time....

hence a snake can be a snake and a rod at one time.....but conditions the changed whenever it takes another form Example of angels who used to come as man SAHIH BUKHARI volume 1, Book 1, Number 2: Narrated 'Aisha: [blue]
