and programs; performed complex analyses of inmate populations involving data

gathering, coding, programming, statistical analysis and interpretation; served as team

leader on adult institution profile projects and assisted in determining future program

needs; performed operational research and staffing analyses of criminal justice agencies

and verified compliance with policies and procedures. Training Director for Criminal

Justice Division: scheduled, prepared and implemented training.

2016 (June 7) Served as prisoner representative for EKU Institutional Review Board Hearing.

2016 (Spring & Summer Semester) – Facilitated a led a student group of mentors in mentoring an ex-

offender. Mentoring includes two hour meetings most every Tuesday evening.

2012 (August) – Attended the International Golden Key Summit in Atlanta, GA, as the faculty advisor for

the Eastern Kentucky University chapter.




2012 (Spring) – Coordinated activities associated with EKU’s Alpha Phi Sigma Honor Society Chapter

competing for and winning a national service award and a student scholarship at the 2012 annual meeting

of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, New York, NY.

2012 (Spring) - Helped coordinate (as well as participated in) the Alpha Phi Sigma’s Honor

Society Chapter’s involvement in Comedy Off Broadway Fundraiser (on 4-26-12).

2012 (Spring) – Coordinated Community Service Project involving students from EKU’s Golden Key

International Honor Society Chapter and women inmates from the Federal Medical Center in Lexington,

KY. Donated supplies to the inmates to make lap blankets and Easter Baskets, provided contents for the

Easter baskets, and distributed the lap blankets and Easter baskets to residents of Madison Manor Nursing

Home in Richmond, KY (on 4-42-12).

2012 (Spring) – Chaired panel entitled “Theories on Criminal Justice Culture, Policy & Practice” at the

2012 annual meeting of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, New York, NY.

2011 (Fall) – Coordinated Community Service Project involving students from EKU’s Alpha Phi Sigma

Honor Society Chapter and women inmates from the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Donated

supplies to the inmates to make lap blankets, provided contents for the Christmas gifts (candy, chocolates,

etc.), and distributed the lap blankets and Christmas gifts to residents of Madison Towers in Richmond, KY

(on 12-5-11).

2011 (Summer) – Chair of Exploratory Committee for the FMC Community relations Board to host a 5 K

Fun Run for the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, KY.

32. HOST ACTIVITIES FOR VISITING CORECTIONAL OFFICIALS

1. Fall 2007 – Spring 2008: Served as host and supervisor to a S. Korean correctional official who is in the US

studying corrections. Activities conducted as part of my host activities included:

a. Toured the Fayette County Detention Center in Lexington, KY with S. Korean visitor Jong

Soon Park. While there we spoke at length with the Deputy Director and staff responsible for

female inmate programs.

b. Accompanied S. Korean visitor Jong Soon Park to the Southern Criminal Justice Association

Meeting in Savannah, GA. While in Savannah we toured the Chatham County Jail and spoke

at length with staff responsible on female inmate programs.

c. Accompanied S. Korean visitor Jong Soon Park to the International Association of

Correctional Training Personnel in Charleston, W. VA.

d. Accompanied S. Korean visitor Jong Soon Park to the American Society of Criminology

conference in Atlanta, GA.

e. Accompanied S. Korean visitor Jong Soon Park to the Correctional Security Conference in

Cincinnati, OH.

f. Toured three KY DJJ facilities (i.e., Cadet Leadership Education Program, Breathitt County

Detention Center, Morehead Youth Development Center for Girls) with S. Korean visitor

Jong Soon Park.

2. Fall 2007 - Served as host to visitor from Director of Research and Evaluation from the Federal Bureau of

Prisons. While here he conducted two presentations as well as did some taping for our online program in CJJS.

3. Fall 2007 - Served as host to visitor Barbara Owen who is a nationally recognized expert on female

offenders. While here she conducted two presentations as well as did some taping for our online program in

CJJS.
