The excitement and energy of Scentsy’s partnership with Disney can translate to increased sales, brand awareness and new team members for your Scentsy business. To maximize this partnership, we encourage you and your teams to actively market The Disney Collection.

We know there have been some concerns and misconceptions around the guidelines for marketing The Disney Collection, but please know that we are always here to help. If a member of Scentsy’s Compliance Team reaches out, it’s usually intended as a learning opportunity to help you understand what rules are in place and why, and then redirect you toward a more successful (and compliant) marketing approach.

Ready to get started? This essential marketing guide will help make sure you’re successful in promoting The Disney Collection. And as always, if you have specific questions, contact the Compliance Team.

DO use The Disney Collection marketing materials as is. Scentsy goes through a thorough approval process with Disney to make sure the marketing materials we provide you are consistent with our licensing agreement, which means they’re only approved by Disney as is. We won’t publish any materials that you can’t use to market your own business. Any alterations to these images (including cropping, filters, altering colors, or adding words or stickers over the image) will void Disney’s approval and therefore may not be used. Keep it simple and use what we’ve provided with your text in the caption to stay in compliance.

DO create your own content. Creating your own content helps you stand out in marketing The Disney Collection. Feel free to create your own images with Scentsy products from The Disney Collection (your son hugging the Stitch – Scentsy Buddy or smelling the Stitch: Experiment 626 Scentsy Bar), just don’t add words or stickers over these images. Keep it simple and add your text in the caption to stay in compliance.

DO respect Disney’s intellectual property. All Disney artwork, movies, images, logos and song lyrics are owned by Disney and may not be used without Disney’s permission. Our partnership with Disney provides us with limited access to Disney intellectual property (IP), so please limit your use to what we provide to you.

DON’T use Disney products to endorse Scentsy. While it’s perfectly OK to feature products from The Disney Collection alongside other Scentsy products in a marketing image, you can’t make it look like Disney characters are endorsing or promoting Scentsy products in any way. Feel free to show a Scentsy Bar from The Disney Collection in a Scentsy Warmer, but don’t have the Mickey Mouse – Scentsy Buddy hugging a Scentsy Warmer.

DON’T promote The Disney Collection on any Disney online properties. You may not target Disney fan pages or online forums to promote The Disney Collection or your Scentsy business. You’re encouraged to promote The Disney Collection on your own social media pages, and you’re always welcome to establish relationships with Disney fans in which you promote The Disney Collection as the relationship builds in one-on-one situations.

Where can I find marketing content to promote The Disney Collection online? Promotional images are regularly posted to the Marketing tab of your Workstation and on Photofy every time we add a new product to The Disney Collection. These are perfect for sharing with your customers on your social media pages.

Can I create my own online marketing materials? Yes! User-generated content (UGC) is a more authentic and effective way to promote products with your customers. These images can contain Disney characters from the same or different worlds and can even include both traditional as well as licensed products together. Please adhere to the above “Do’s and Don’ts” and make sure your images are shot with good lighting, are in focus and represent the product well.

What about hashtags? Hashtags are a fun way to market The Disney Collection. In fact, we encourage you to include #ScentsyandDisney on all your social media marketing. To help Disney fans see the products, use the character hashtags such as #MickeyMouse or #WinnieThePooh (especially around new movie launches). The only hashtags you can’t use would be any that suggest Disney is endorsing or promoting Scentsy, such as #DisneylovesScentsy.

Where can I share marketing content online? You’re welcome to promote The Disney Collection on your social media pages and in digital advertising and emails to your customers. If you have an external website or blog where you promote your Scentsy business, please review and adhere to our external website guidelines.

Do I have to use the full product name and the hyphen? Formal Disney Collection product names can get long. While we recommend using the full Scentsy product names, we understand this wording can be awkward in your marketing efforts and is not required to stay in compliance. For example: You can simply say “Scentsy has introduced a new Stitch Buddy” or “The Tigger Buddy has arrived” or even “Scentsy now has Olaf!”

Where can I find printed marketing materials to promote The Disney Collection? Printed materials, including Scentsy catalogs, post cards, pop-up displays and more, are available in Scentsy Success and the Vistaprint ProShop.

Can I create my own printed marketing materials? As long as you use the approved Marketing tab assets in their original form or your own UGC images, you may make your own printed marketing materials including fliers, postcards or other printed materials.

Where can I share printed marketing content? You’re welcome to use approved printed marketing materials at parties, fairs and shows, fundraisers and in any direct one-on-one connections with your customers.
