Specifications Capacities and pressure ratings: Refer to Tables 1–6 Reproducibility: ±2% Housing: Fiberglass reinforced PPE NEMA 4X (IP65) Diaphragm: Teflon faced Viscosity: Maximum: 500 cp; High viscosity models: 3000 cp Power Supply: 110-115 VAC or 200-230 VAC; 22 W/2 A maximum Relay load: 250 VAC, 2A, 50/60 Hz Temperature Range: 14-113°F (-10 to +45°C) Dimensions: See Figures 5 and 6
Pump Selection Guidelines 1. Choose the Beta or Gamma L model that meets your
required capacity.
2. Make sure that the maximum pressure output for the pump selected exceeds your system pressure.
3. Select the wetted end materials that are compatible with the chemical(s) being used.
Figure 3 — Beta metering pump face plate
2
Figure 4 — Gamma L metering pump face plate
4. Verify that the selected pumps have the control capabilities required for your application.
5. How do I choose between the Beta and Gamma L (GALa) pump product lines?
Key selection factors for Beta: low cost, simple operation and control
Key selection factors for Gamma L: very low feed rates, control with 4-20 mA operation, LCD display (gph and totalized flow) or access codes.
To Order Order the ProMinent Beta and Gamma L series pumps and accessories by using the Nalco part number listed in selection tables grouped by application (Tables 1–6).
Additional Beta and Gamma L pump capacities, materials of construction and options are available. Please contact Equipment Solutions Technical Support Group at 1-866-798-7444.

Installation Guidelines (Figures 7 and 8) To minimize friction losses:
• Suction lines should be as short and straight as possible to minimize friction losses
• Stay with recommended tubing/pipe sizes or use larger diameters
Flooded suction is always recommended to ensure the most trouble-free installation. This is especially im- portant when pumping viscous products. If a flooded suction is not practical, be sure to install a foot valve to hold pump prime.
When pumping products that tend to evolve gas, keep the stroke length above 50% and use the bleed valve.
Consider ordering a complete packaged feed system such as the Nalco Modular Pump Systems-Lite Indus- trial Series (Spec-445) or an Economy Modular Pump System (Spec-454) to simplify installation and ensure a quick startup.
5. 8- 6 .3
Installing the following components increases the per- formance and reliability of your chemical feed system:
• Suction strainer to remove valve-clogging particulate
• Calibration cylinder to set dosage rate with the chemical product and exact process conditions
• Flow monitor (Figure 9) to ensure that chemical is flowing to the process
• Back pressure valve to ensure consistent chemical feed accuracy and prevent siphoning
• Pressure relief valve to protect the piping system and personnel
• Injection check valve to disperse the chemical into the process
These components are included on many of the Lite Industrial package systems.
