Rough and TumbleRough and Tumble

• This happens when you take your job or assignment seriously. To me every assignment is very important and worth pursuing as it has interdependency over other situation. It inspires me to move forward with competitive zest. Here lies the motivation and success.

• The title moves around these above syllogism.• The location was the project site and situation

was to work or not to work. I opted for the later. The Chief Administrative Officer was on a visit to assess the progress .

• Incidentally I was given a vehicle to proceed at site. The supervisor of the contractor suggested me to carry out controlled blast of rock for preparation of widening the cutting bank. It was half an hour job and another fifteen minutes to wind up. I thought it was a good margin and the inspecting officer will have a feel that some sort of work was going on. I obtained the traffic block. During blasting ,the cut piece of rock fallen down the track blocking the traffic beyond the sanctioned duration of traffic block.

• It took extra half an hour to restore the traffic and the Inspection train passed the track.

• The Chief Administrative Officer was duly impressed that the rock blasting work was done to impress him giving no cognizance of negative comments about the incident.

The beginningThe beginning

After passing my Diploma in engineering I got a clerical job in the year 1969/03 for a period of 15 days and I served Rajasthan State Electricity Board for about seven years. I joined Western Railway in the year 1975/04

During the period I did my job very sincerely and earned the reputation of a good worker. The incident ,I am going to quote is very inspiring to those who rue underemployment and never bothered the commitment.

The beginningThe beginning

• I had become Assistant Engineer by the time I met my former boss now retired Member (Transmission) of my erstwhile employment. I spotted him among the crowd( Officers and others) who had assembled at the railway station to see him off to Germany. I got up and went to greet him. He recognized and embraced me. He was happy to know that I was doing well after leaving his department.

The beginningThe beginning

• The streak in my character remained in tact without break when my senior boss addressed me as his when some solution needed.

• In sum, there is no short cut to success and it eludes them who miss sincerity, hardworking, and commitment
