THE FERRIS COMMUNITY SUMMER BAND
Celebrating its 45th season, the Ferris Community Summer Band is proudly sponsored by FERRIS STATE UNIVERSITY as part of its Music for Life initiative. Each summer, the band meets for a series of weekly musical escapades. The concerts – which are free and open to the public – are presented each week throughout the greater Big Rapids area. Each concert features a different program, making for rich musical encounters for our performing musicians, and for our community of friends, family, neighbors and visitors. This “Communiversity” Band is open to musically experienced adults, high school students, and advanced middle school students. The band rehearses on Mondays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the FSU Music Center. The 2010 rehearsal dates are: June 7, 14, 21, 28 & July 6. There is no fee to play in the Summer Band. It is also possible to take Summer Band for credit at FERRIS STATE UNIVERSITY as “Music 160.” So for all of you musicians out there, young and old – even if you haven’t had your “horn out of the case for a while” – go grab your horns, hop on the bandwagon, and come help fill our summer skies with the sweet sounds of music by joining us for as many of the weekly cycles of rehearsals and concerts as you’re able to make! For more information, please contact director Scott Cohen at (231) 591-2484 or at [email protected]. You can also find us on line at www.ferris.edu/music.

THE FERRIS COMMUNITY SUMMER BAND Celebrating its 45th season, the Ferris Community Summer Band is proudly sponsored by FERRIS STATE UNIVERSITY as part of its Music for Life initiative.
It is also possible to take Summer Band for credit at FERRIS STATE UNIVERSITY as “Music 160.”
So for all of you musicians out there, young and old – even if you haven’t had your “horn out of the case for a while” – go grab your horns, hop on the bandwagon, and come help fill our summer skies with the sweet sounds of music by joining us for as many of the weekly cycles of rehearsals and concerts as you’re able to make! For more information, please contact director Scott Cohen at (231) 591-2484 or at [email protected]. You can also find us on line at www.ferris.edu/music.
