WHO'S WHO in the CAST

CHRIS SAMS (Coalhouse Walker Jr.). My relationship with Ragtime began in 1999 in a tiny room in Houston, TX and the OBC recording. Sixteen years later it is more than an honor to be a part of a production whose triumphs and trials are as evident today as they were at the turn of the twentieth century. Favorite credits include: Mother Divine (Arnold), Fifty Shades of Grey: The Musical Parody (Taylor), Rock of Ages (Mayor/Ja’Keith), The Color Purple (Buster/Ensemble), and Smokey Joe’s Café (Ken Ard). MATTHEW CURIANO (Tateh) is beyond thrilled to be part of Ragtime. Originally from Schenectady NY, Matthew spent his last year sporting chainmail and a sword in the national tour of Camelot. Other favorite credits: Floyd Collins (Floyd), Les Miserables (Thenardier), Seussical (Cat in the Hat), and countless productions of Fiddler on the Roof. Proud Pace University MT graduate. KATE TURNER (Mother) is honored to be a part of the Ragtime Tour with this fantastic company. A native of Florida, Kate received her BFA from Penn State’s Musical Theatre Program. Kate was last seen as Nimue in the Nat’l Tour of Camelot. BOB MARCUS (Grandfather) is thrilled to be a part of Ragtime. Touring credits include: Evita (two tours/Europe), Fame, three tours of Fiddler on the Roof (Lazar Wolf/Tevye u/s) and the 2014/15 Jekyll & Hyde (Sir Danvers Carew). An original Maine-iac, favorite credits include: Les Misérables (Thenardier), Sweeney Todd (Judge Turpin), The Producers (Max Bialystock) and Nunsense-Amen! (Mother Superior) and Noises Off (Selsdon). Bob can be heard on the Evita 2003/04 European cast recording and the original cast recording of Eagle Song. Thanks to his family and friends and Life. COLIN MYERS (The Little Boy) is a 12 year old, 7th grader from Cleveland, Ohio. Regional credits include: A Christmas Story (Schwartz) and Dawg Pounded (Young Paul), Oliver (Oliver), Bye Bye Birdie (Randolph MacAfee) and Big Fish (Young Will). Colin takes private voice, dance and acting lessons in his spare time. Colin would like to thank his family for supporting his love of acting. CARA MYERS (The Little Girl) is a 10 year old 5th grader from Cleveland, Ohio. Regional credits include: A Christmas Carol (Turkey girl/ Street girl), Shrek (Shoemaker’s Elf) Annie (Duffy) and Jesus Christ Superstar (Ensemble). Cara takes private voice lessons, ballet, tap and jazz lessons in her free time.

MARK ALPERT (Harry Houdini) is excited to be performing in his second national tour, having just finished portraying the role of Archibald Proops in the national tour of Jekyll & Hyde. Mark is a graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory with a BFA in Musical Theatre. TODD BERKICH (JP Morgan) was last seen in the US National Tour of Guys And Dolls playing Nicely Nicely Johnson. JOE CALLAHAN (Willie Conklin) is thrilled and honored to be part of this amazing cast. BFA Musical Theater (Western Carolina University). Past credits include: Les Misérables (Marius), Irving Berlin’s White Christmas (Phil Davis), Robin Hood (Robin), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (Anthony), The Drowsy Chaperone (Gangster 1).

NEHEMIAH TIMOTHY LEWIS (Young Coalhouse) Nehemiah Timothy Lewis is a four-year-old little boy who can warm anyone’s heart with his big smile. He is the youngest of three, but has the soul of a thirty-year old. He has been entertaining us since he was a baby. He loves to rap, dance, and play any sport. Nehemiah is a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he has participated in The Church School Easter program and sings in the Youth Choir. He also attends Children on the Green preschool, and has had the pleasure of working with Ms. Grace.

JOHN BARSOIAN (Ensemble) is thrilled to be joining the touring company of Ragtime! He is a recent graduate of Elon University. Recent roles include: Mary Poppins (Bert) at Artpark. Other roles include: A Man of No Importance (Breton Beret), The Drowsy Chaperone (Robert Martin) and Hair (Ensemble). Film and TV: Goosebumps (2016) and The Originals (CW). He would like to thank his friends and family for their love and support!

COLLEEN GALLAGHER (Ensemble) is incredibly happy to be on the road with Ragtime! Originally from CT, Colleen is a proud graduate of Manhattanville College (BA). Previous credits include: The Music Man (Marian Paroo), Brigadoon (Fiona), Kiss Me, Kate (Kate/Lilli), The Secret Garden (Martha), Suds (Cindy), Damn Yankees (Gloria Thorpe), and Carousel (Julie Jordan). DANIEL GORHAM (Ensemble) is thrilled to be a part of this incredible production team. Originally from Baltimore, MD he recently performed for the past two years in Branson, MO at Sight and Sound Theatres with Jonah (King Ashurdan III). Other favorite roles include: Pirates of Penzance (The Pirate King), Carmen (Zuniga), Cendrillon (Baron Pictordu) and Aida (Amonasro). MILIKA GRIFFITHS (Ensemble) is thrilled to be making her touring debut with Phoenix Entertainment! Raised in New Jersey, Milika is pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre at Rider University. Her university credits include: All Shook Up (Lorraine), and The Full Monty (Joanie Lish). Her professional credits include: Merchant of Venice (Jessica) and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Jolene Oaks). She would like to thank Phoenix Entertainment for this opportunity and her mother Lorna for her constant support and love throughout this whole journey!

ALEC MATHIESON (Ensemble) is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and a recent graduate of NYU Tisch’s New Studio on Broadway. Some favorite roles include: NYU’s The Secret Garden (Neville), Ragtime (Henry Ford), and Grease (Danny Zuko); and Kenneth Branagh and Rob Ashford’s Macbeth at the Park Avenue Armory (Ensemble). JoNATHAN MICHAEL (Ensemble), a New Jersey Native, is a graduate from the University of The Arts in Philadelphia, Pa (BFA in Modern Dance Performance). He began dance training at 10 with the Hudson Repertory Dance Theater after receiving a full scholarship. He remained with the school where he taught and was a part of its first youth ensemble. Favorite roles: Fame (Tyrone), West Side Story (Pepe), Grease (Ensemble/Kenickie us), The Color Purple (Ensemble/Harpo us), Dreamgirls (James Thunder Early). JoNathan is also a recording artist, vocal coach & ordained minister.

STEPHEN FLAHERTY (Music) is the composer of the Broadway musicals Rocky, Ragtime (Tony, Drama Desk, OCC Awards, two Grammy nominations), Seussical (Grammy, Drama Desk nominations) and Once on This Island (Tony nomination, Olivier Award, Best Musical.) Additional Broadway includes Chita Rivera: The Dancer’s Life (original songs) and Neil Simon’s Proposals (incidental music).
