Rajesh has over 30 years of rich and diversified experience in the field of Information Technology and has
been associated mainly with Manufacturing and Distribution companies. Rajesh focuses on aligning the IT
roadmap with Organization’s business objectives to help the management achieving the goals quickly and
efficiently. He has experience of leading cross cultural teams and has worked in Europe, UK, Middle East and
India.
Rajesh has held the IT leadership positions for more than 20 years. He, till very recently, held the position of
CIO and Vice President-HR for Havells Sylvania Europe Ltd and was based at London and Frankfurt where he
was part of the senior management team tasked with integrating businesses of Sylvania (500 m€) with the
parent company - Havells India (combined turnover of around 1 billion €). The team successfully turned
around the business from a loss making entity to a company that made profits in 2011 and 2012. He had
specific responsibility of providing strategic direction to the board on IT, Supply Chain and HR matters. He
was also responsible for successful restructuring the business in Europe, reduction of manpower by more
than 1000, closing non-viable manufacturing locations and warehouses, designing improved supply networks
and centralizing the operations.
As part of Accenture India, Rajesh played the role of Unit Lead for the IT Outsourcing portfolio of Accenture
and led the outsourced IT projects at Dabur India, Asahi Glass and Jindal Stainless amongst others. At these
projects, Rajesh led the teams in aligning the Information Technology to the Business analyzing the business
needs and recommending and implementing the right IT initiative varying from Retail Strategy, SAP
implementation and merging the IT setups of acquired entities.
As Group CIO of Ghabbour Group in Egypt, he helped the group in successfully re-implementing the ERP
which had failed earlier and helped them in building their IT team to manage the new implementation.
Rajesh also worked as the Group Chief Information Officer of Usha Martin Group – India, where he created
the Information Technology roadmap for the Group and successfully steered the employees and the Group
to technology focused operations by integrating the manufacturing units and the HQ in India with the export
offices located all across the globe and successfully implementing ERP to cover all aspects of the business
operations, covering all the aspects of manufacturing cycle from planning, order to cash and beyond.
Rajesh also has extensive exposure to Planning and Operations areas of manufacturing organizations having
led the Production Planning and Control function at Essar Steel – India where he led the core team to not
only develop the automation systems from scratch but also headed the PPC Operations for the 2 MTPA
facilities at Gujarat, India.
Rajesh, in his long career, has created IT Strategies and Roadmaps, built Business Continuity Plans with
specific focus on technological Disaster Management, implemented Business Intelligence Systems,
Enterprise Resource Planning applications, CRM systems and created robust IT infrastructures for
organizations to achieve their business objectives.
