professors CARLOS GARCÍA FERNÁNDEZ Carlos García Fernández was born in Cangas del Narcea, Asturias in 1982. He received his degree in Architecture from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM) in 2009 with outstanding grades and he also studied at the Architecture School of Technische Universiteit Delft in Holland in 2005 and 2006 with an Erasmus Fellowship. He has been a guest researcher at KEIO University in Tokyo under the supervision of Kazuyo Sejima during the summer of 2010 and he was awarded with the Architecture Fellowship at the Spanish Academy in Rome in 2010-2011. Before graduating he worked for several years in the office of Jesús Aparicio and as an independent architect he has won several awards in ideas competitions. His built work in Spain includes a Sailing School in Sotogrande, Cadiz with Héctor Fernández Elorza and a Single Family House in Asturias. After graduating as a Fulbright Fellow from the Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design at Columbia University in 2014, he moves to Madrid to continue his teaching activity as faculty in the Architectural Projects Department at ETSAM /UPM, an also his professional practice as principal of RAW, an architecture practice founded in New York -together with his partner Begoña de Abajo- and winner of the first prize in the competition for a Sociocultural Center in Reinosa, Spain, currently under construction.

Carlos GarCía Fernández

Carlos García Fernández was born in Cangas del Narcea, Asturias in 1982.

He received his degree in Architecture from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de

Madrid (ETSAM) in 2009 with outstanding grades and he also studied at the Architecture School of

Technische Universiteit Delft in Holland in 2005 and 2006 with an Erasmus Fellowship. He has been
