Operating Principle of the Strato-Charged™ Engine

As the piston proceeds through the upstroke of the intake cycle, the crankcase vacuum pulls fresh air in through the fuel/air transfer port via the groove in the piston skirt.

As the piston begins its down stroke after top dead center, a transfer port opens and fresh air in the transfer port moves into the cylinder, separating incoming air-fuel mixture from the exhaust. The fresh air exits out of the exhaust port after the combustion gas has been expelled. This is unlike conventional 2-cycle engines, which expels unburned gas after the combustion gas. Most exhaust emissions from 2-cycle engines are generated by this unburned gas.

The Strato-Charged™ 2-stroke “Green” engine is a latest state-of-the-art design and technology that produces ultra-low emissions with high power output without use of additional moving parts as associated with 4-stroke or 4-stroke hybrid engines. The two-stroke engine contains 3 moving parts while its 4-stroke counterparts may have (25-30) moving parts. There are no valve adjustments or oil changes or daily oil reservoir level checks with 2 strokes.

We are the 2-stroke technology leader that meets emission standards without the need of inefficient, power-robbing, heavy 4-stroke or 4-stroke hybrid technologies.

RedMax Max-Life Synthetic blend, 2-stroke oil is designed for tough professional usage. RedMax Max-Life-fortified, 2-stroke oil formulation lowers engine temperature. The high anti-wear, anti-scuff additive content has superior cleaning capabilities that reduce piston, ring groove, and crankcase deposits allowing engines to run cooler, cleaner and more efficiently thus minimizing exhaust port and spark arrestor screen blocking.

The fuel stabilizer in RedMax oil reduces fuel oxidation that produces varnish, gum and stale fuel. RedMax oil is certified and Registered with JASO for use in ALL air-cooled, 2-stroke outdoor power equipment engines. It meets and exceeds ISO-LEGD and JASO M345/FD highest 2-stroke oil requirements, which includes low smoke emissions.

The RedMax air-cooled, 2-stroke engine oil is fully compatible with EPA and CARB mandated oxygenated fuels that contain up to 10% ethanol.
