Reason for choosing production name:

Liberty- definition: a state of being free within society from repressive restrictions imposed by authority. The reason for choosing this as our production name is because it compliments the song, video and how I am are representing the artist. For example the ideology behind the narrative is about members of society and institutions such as the media portraying young adults in a negative light when in reality this is unfair, unjust and exaggerated victim blaming solution. Liberty represents the media and these particular members whom have these views to be the repressive restriction on young adults as they generalise and associate young adults with particular crimes, situations and problems, young adults are scapegoats to societies problems. However, the ideology of the video is about not being or feeling how these people assume you are instead proving them wrong and being free. Becoming someone who is not stereotyped or generalised by age, ethnicity and class. Liberty further compliments the lyrics of the song, for example “you cant hold me down” this reinforces the idea of being set free and no restrictions are able to prevent and individual from prospering. The artist represents the connotations of liberty such as being determined to make other aware of these stereotypes and how unrealistic they are. Whilst at the same time motivating her own target audience (age group) to feel empowered that they are all free (boundless). In addition, liberty compliments our logo idea being a bird. A bird connotes being free and being able to strive high this relates back to the record company and artist striving high to become successful.

Reason for not choosing:Reverie- definition: A state of being pleasantly lost in one's thoughts; a daydream. The reason for choosing this was a serious contender for my production name is because it compliments the song, video and how we are representing the artist. For example my narrative is about being lost in ones dream, this is someone’s thought process and what they are feeling and thinking-their ideas/opinions. In our video the audience will have an insiders view into the artist thought process, the audience are able to relate and identify with the video/narrative as they will be absorbed- pleasantly lost within the

narratives meaning. The lyrics of the song further compliment the narrative and make it all blend together to create an overall pleasant and engaging viewing that would leave an ending effect on the audience. However, I did not choose this because a daydream, which is the definition, is a state of absent mind. The narrative for my video involves the audience being engaged viewers rather than passive.

Utopia- this means a perfect imagined place or thing, the narrative for the video and lyrics contrast this meaning. The narrative is about life not being perfect. However, the reason for considering this as an option was because it is imagined, our narrative is also a dream which is similar to imagined as the artist imagines (dreams) about this situation happening to her.

Beat- this is a rhythmic unit in music, therefore beat would have been consistent and appropriate name for a production company or record label. The logo we are considering is of a bird with large and strong wings, a bird beats its wings to move. This is also appropriate to use as the logo represents our artist in order to fly (be a successful artist) the bird needs to beat its wings. Although, this name was not used as it is too simple and not as stimulating and moving as the narrative and song lyrics is.
