to work together towards the upliftment of civil engineering education and practice.
The objective of ProComp, is to recognise engineering projects of extraordinary
merit, physical achievement, innovation or ingenuity, which ultimately lead the
excellence of the civil engineering profession. This event provides a platform to
students to sharpen their analytical acumen, arrive at reliable conclusions and
improve their presentation skills. It is hoped that these will help to boost their
confidence and to scale greater heights in their career as an engineer.

Mining Engineering
Ecological Engineering
Each team must nominate one of the members as the leader for single point
of contact, to whom all communications shall be sent.
The engineering project must be part of the curriculum i.e. one which is
submitted to the university for the B. Tech degree. The project visualization
should have taken place within 12 months prior to the submission deadline.
Rules and Guidelines for Submission
Teams interested in participation should take approval in writing from their
college in the prescribed format.

of entry along with registration form.
This abstract shall include:
Definition of the problem
Outline of the design process
Description of the proposed solution
Potential benefits of the solution
2. Final Report
The final report should be an extract of the thesis and should include:
Summary of the project
Technical details of the project
Achievements vis-a-vis objectives originally envisaged
Salient features of the project
Selection Process
Each project will be judged by an expert panel of five members. There will be three
stages of review. Each member of the panel will evaluate the projects at the various
stages and a final score will be arrived at, by combining the individual scores of the
panelists.
Stage 1 (weightage 30%)
The abstract received from each team will be reviewed by the panel. The criteria for
entry into the competition shall be:
Compliance to the guidelines
Innovative concepts / implementation
Practical applications
Description of the design process
Stage 2 (weightage 45%)
All the final reports received as per schedule of dates will be reviewed by the
members of the panel. Based on the quality of work presented in the report , top
5 projects will be selected for a final presentation and evaluation, based on the
following parameters, as applicable:
Relevance of project to contemporary engineering problems
Design and implementation
Performance of the design
Novelty of application
Testing strategy and results obtained
Quality of report as judged by flow, completeness, objective vs.
achievements etc.
The technical competence in presentation of report
Every team that is selected will be given guidelines and instructions on
what they need to present at the final evaluation.
Stage 3 (weightage 25%)
The final evaluation and ranking of the selected 5 civil engineering projects will
be done in an annual event jointly organized by GRACE & AISAT based on :
Clarity and organization of the presentation
Quality of response to questions by the panel/audience
M. Visvesvaraya Prize & Procomp Awards
