A proactive attitude is not a destination. It is a way of life.

IMPORTANCE OF ATTITUDE

IT IS OUR ATTITUDE

TOWARDS LIFE & WORK THAT

MAKES OUR LIFE 100%

Page 7: Proactive attitude

The difference is not the age of the country. India & Egypt, that are more than 2000 years old and are poor. On the other hand, Canada, Australia & New Zealand, that 150

years ago were inexpressive, today are developed countries and are rich.

This is not because of availibility of natural resources i.e. Japan has a limited territory, 80% mountainous, inadequate for

agriculture & cattle raising, but it is the second world economy. Race or skin color are also not important:

IMPORTANCE OF ATTITUDEWHY RICH COUNTRIES ARE RICH?WHY POOR COUNTRIES ARE POOR?

What is the difference then? The difference is the attitude of the people,

framed along the years by the education & the culture.

How Can You Be PROACTIVE in a Reactive World?

Page 13: Proactive attitude

TWO TYPES OF PEOPLE There are two types of people.

(1) REACTIVE (2) PROACTIVE

Reactive people’s attitude & performance are often affected by

Physical environment: If the weather is good, they feel good and their performance will be good.

Social environment: When people treat them well, they feel well. When people don’t, they become defensive or protective.

Page 14: Proactive attitude

TWO TYPES OF PEOPLE Proactive people’s attitude & performance will not be affected

-by the environment or -the situation surrounding them.

If the Proactive people’s intention is to produce good quality work, then they will proceed without caring whether the situation is conducive or not.

Page 15: Proactive attitude

TWO TYPES OF PEOPLE PROACTIVE PEOPLE REACTIVE PEOPLE

- FOCUS ON THE THINGS THEY CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT

- ARE SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS

FOCUS ON THE WEAKNESS OF OTHER PEOPLE, THE PROBLEMS IN THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE CIRCUMSTANCES OVER WHICH THEY HAVE NO CONTROL.

ARE PROBLEM THEMSELVES

Page 16: Proactive attitude

USE R & I Many of us always wait for someone to initiate or care us .

But those who are successful are the ones who takes the initiative to do whatever is necessary / to get the job done.

i.e. they use their R & I (Resourcefulness and Initiative), to be successful.

PROACTIVITY -- 30 DAY TEST

Simply try the principle of proactivity and see what happens: Make small commitments and keep them Be a model, not a critic. Be part of solution, not part of problem. Don’t argue for other people’s weaknesses When you make a mistake, admit it, correct it and learn from

it – immediately. Don’t get into a blaming, accusing mode. Work on the things you have control over. Work on you.
