Survey Ranks PLSAS as one of the Top 10 School Districts in the MetroThe results are in! Every other year we conduct a customer satis faction survey and I am pleased to report that our residents again responded very positively. In fact, the results place us amongst the top 10 school districts in the Twin Cities in the areas of:

- providing a high-quality education- quality teaching staff- sound financial management- leadership of school board, superintendent and administration- effective communications

This past summer, Decision Resources conducted a scientific phone survey that included 400 randomly selected adult resi dents.

When residents were asked to rate the quality of education provided by Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools, 91 percent gave an excellent or good rating. According to Decision Resources this rating places our district in the top 10 percent of schools in the metro for providing qual ity education to students.

In the area of finance, 58 percent rate PLSAS’ financial management as excellent or good. According to Decision Resources, 45 percent is a more typical rating in other metro school districts.

For job performance, 89 percent rated teachers and support staff’s job performance as either excellent or good. Seventy-nine percent rated the school board’s job performance as either excellent or good, and administration and superintendent ratings garnered 73 percent as excellent or good. According to Decision Resources, our scores place our staff and district leadership amongst the top 10 school districts in the metro that they have surveyed.

Our schools continue to possess one of the most effective communications systems in the Metropolitan Area, according to Decision Resources. While 29 percent of residents said they prefer to receive information from the local newspaper, 64 percent prefer one of the current district communications channels, either print or electronic.

A new question on our survey dealt with technology. Eighty-five percent of residents told us that technology is either absolutely essential or very important for our students. When rating technology opportunities for students, 78 percent listed them as excellent or good.

To view the entire survey results, visit our website: www.priorlake-savage.k12.mn.us.

The person with a special interest, talent or subject knowledge that you’d like to share with others.

We are looking for teachers willing to add a little “class” to the lives in Prior Lake-Savage. You don’t have to be a licensed teacher. Enthusiasm combined with knowledge of a subject or skill in a special interest area will be enough to get you started.

Those of us in Community Education are here to provide assistance on class content, handout production and more. We’ll let you know what we expect, how we will promote your classes and do all we can to help you succeed. You’ll receive an instructor’s handbook with all the practical details you need to know, feedback from class participants and appreciation for your efforts.

But it’s not just about Community Ed, it’s about you contributing to your community to make it a better place to be and your own personal growth.

We can’t do it without YOU! Call us at 952-226-0080. Let’s get together and talk possibilities.
