I have used different aspects of our music ideas and the lyrics to create this DVD cover which is inspired by true life

situations of love and hate.

I have firstly started of by editing in a plain black background I feel it should be plain as later I will as graphics and text which I want to stand out so using a plain background it will not over power the rest of the DVD cover

The next step for me was to enhance my DVD cover by adding a graphic which is bright adding more colour and resulting in making it more attractive and eye-catching. I feel the graphic links to the message of love and hate, as the pink represents love also indicated by the rose which is connotation of romance. Whereas the black represents hate. Both are combines in one graphical pattern as there is a fine line between love and hate.

I have edited text of the main arts name at the top so it is noticeable but not to enlarged therefore leaving more space for the song name . The font is clear and easy to understand, I tried to get a profession looking font as I didn’t want it look to childish the colour grey goes which my colour scheme and theme which is pink, black, grey and white.

I have put a grey strap across the bottom as a background for the title as a result the title will be more emphasised. The italic writing is a contrast to the font of the main artists name. The title is outlined in white and filled with back which fits into the colour scheme and theme of the DVD cover.

Here I have put five star which are grey suited to the DVD theme. This shows to the audience that the DVD is of quality.

Below the five star I have put a quote from film critics which gives someone else view about the video and can be more reliable as they are film critics.

Here I have put another graphic behind the title strip it balances the cover out more and emphasises it resulting in more colour to enhance the cover

A classification logo is one of the conventions vital in a DVD cover I have targeted this to 12 and above as you have to be mature enough to understand the message behind the video. Also on the back cover I have added the small print which gives details to the film production company.

The title on the back cover is similar to the front and contains the artists name. I have done this to create a continuous theme within the DVD cover.

As planned on my flat plan I have edited in a film strip in which I will put placing pictures about the music video. I think this unique Idea is appropriate as the type of media is film based.

Here I have put a behind the shoulder shot image of the couple as the female is turning away from the male artist. The focus is on the main star and the female is out of focus.

Contrasting to the previous image I have edited an mid shot image of the female and male stars together as a couple shows different perspectives in their relationship.

I have added a barcode which is essential for the DVD to be sold.

Similarly I have shown the couple being close in a close up image, which gives different view of the relationship.

To make the film strip look professional instead of leaving the bottom square blank I have put in and image of the main artist to make it look more realistic

On the back cover I have added addition information which is typically on a DVD cover which I discovered in my DVD research and analysis. I have put special feature so the audience can become more interactive with the DVD and get to know the characters more. Also added who stars in the film and repeated the quotation from the front cover so the audience can be reminded.

As planned on my flat plan I have edited in the mid shot image of the female which is in black and white to represent past relationship.

I have inserted a mid shot image of the main artist in colour to contrast from the black and white image. The image is fading from black and white to colour representing his past is still with him

I have edited in the spine of the DVD which includes the simple information of the main artist name, the song and the classification
