Principal’s News Tuesday 15 June 2021 This week we start our NAIDOC celebrations. NAIDOC week falls in the school holidays, so we have scheduled activities across the last two weeks of this term, starting with Stages 1 and 2 having a visit from Trish Ellis and Kerry Boyenga. Across the school over the next two weeks all classes will be participating in different cultural learning activities which will be highlighted in our last assembly for the term on Thursday 24 June.
First SAIL awards
Our first three SAIL awards (Student Attendance Improves Learning) were drawn last Thursday, one for each stage. It was fantastic to see so many students in the draw, with close to two thirds of the school in it last week. Our aim is to have all the students eligible for the SAIL award.
Remember, to be in the draw, students need to:
• be at school on time (before 8:50am);
• attend every school day; and
• if they are absent, make sure they have brought a note to explain why they were away when they return.
Athletics Carnival
We are looking forward to a great Athletics Carnival on Thursday. Captain Oldrey has been marked ready and fingers crossed the forecast of a dry day will be correct. Parents will have a designated area where they can cheer on the students.
Our carnival will commence with the traditional March Past before moving into the 100m races. After that the students will rotate around the field events and 200m races in their age groups.
Students are asked to bring a drink, their lunch, recess and snacks to get them through the day. The canteen will not be operating on Thursday.
More information on both the infants and primary carnivals are in this Scoop.
Soccer Success
Congratulations to our girls’ soccer team who have made it to the next round of the PSSA Soccer knockout. They defeated Sussex Inlet PS last week and now look forward to their next match. Well done girls and Mrs Dunne!
