ALL visitors to the school must

sign in at the computer in the front office before they enter the

building. You will be given a visi-

tors badge that must be worn at

all times while you are in the

building.

If you plan on taking your child

out of school for an educational trip, please ask your child’s teach-

er or go on the school office or

online for an educational leave

form. This must be returned to

school approved by the principal prior to the date of the trip.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

We are excited to share that we are continuing our PBIS (Positive Behav-

ior Interventions & Support) program this year. Positive Behavior Inter-

ventions and Support is a process for creating school environments that are more predictable and effective for achieving academic and social

goals. As part of our PBIS plan, we will continue our arrival and dismis-

sal procedures.

ARRIVAL

ALL students will enter through the main entrance of our school. * One green cool cat key ring will be given to each family. It will be used

for parental identification from 7:40-7:55 am only. When walking

children to their classrooms or any other area of the building parents

should be prepared to present the pass if requested by a school employ-

ee. Parents must sign in at the office if they do not have their pass.* All

visitors must sign in at the office when arriving after 7:55am.* Students are considered tardy if they are not in their classroom by 7:55 am. Any

student that is tardy must be signed in by his/her parents.

DISMISSAL

* Bus dismissal procedures have not changed.

* Car riders and “WALKERS” are separated for afternoon pick-ups. A

walker is considered a student whose parent(s) park his/her car and walks to the building to pick up his/her child.

* Car riders will be dismissed from the gymnasium. Parents will continue

to follow car line procedures. Name tags should be placed on the rear view mirror for student identification. Students will be called by a teach-

er on the walkie-talkie. Parents should remain in their cars at all

times.

* Walkers will be dismissed from the back of the auditorium. Parents will walk to the outside entrance of the auditorium and will request the staff

member in charge to dismiss their child.

* It is imperative that parents notify their child’s homeroom teacher

which mode of transportation their child will be using at dismissal. Please note: if your child is typically a car rider written notice will be re-

quired for a move to the walker dismissal area. This also applies to

changes in bus transportation. This allows us to know where all children

are located at all times. This is for the safety of our children.

*We are requesting that parents please refrain from picking their chil-

dren up from school for appointments between 2:00-2:25pm., as this is

too close to our dismissal time. It can create confusion in our dismissal

procedure. If your child has an appointment please pick them up prior to

2:00 pm. Thank you for your assistance in this safety procedure.

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR

CHILD IS SICK

If your child has a fever of

over 100 degrees or is throw-

ing up please keep them at

home.

If your child becomes sick at

school you will be contacted

to pick him/her up as soon as

possible. Please make sure all

contact numbers are current.

If you take your child to a

physician while he/she is ab-

sent ask for note to send to

school upon his/her return.

School Nurse: Krista Lawson

HANDBOOKS AND NEWSLETTERS

Please read our student hand-

book and monthly newsletter.

They are both full of useful in-

formation pertaining to Lewis-

ville School.

Please refrain from using your cell phone while waiting in the car rider

line. If you are interested in being a volunteer please call

the school to find out how! 336-703-4224

Welcome to Lewisville Elementary!!!

Watch D.O.G.S.

Fathers and Father-Figures,

On Friday, September 15th we will be having our Watch D.O.G.S. kick off breakfast. At 7:30AM in

the Media Center we will have a presentation about our Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students)

Program. We will have drinks and doughnuts!

Watch D.O.G.S. is an innovative program being used by schools across America which helps them to

be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father-figures in their student’s

life.

Our goal is to have you spend at least one day this year at the school to be a positive male role model

and to provide an extra set of eyes and ears.

Dads, granddads, uncles, step-dads, and adult brothers…..This is your chance to have a night out

alone with your student in a fun atmosphere at school.

We need your help...

Lunch numbers… all students have

them and they are really long! We are

asking that all parents and guardians assist their children in learning their

student account numbers. Students are

asked to use these numbers everyday

when they go through the serving line at

breakfast and lunch. The lines are

slowed down considerably by students that do not know their numbers. If you

do not have your child’s number at

home please contact your child’s teacher

and they can send it home.

School Lunch Prices

Breakfast $1.90 Lunch $2.80

Don’t forget to check out our schools

website! It is updated daily with school

news and events happening in the school.
