2004 As Secretary of IFLA Library History Section , organized the section’s session “The Past Development of Literacies in the Context of Libraries,” for the 70th IFLA General Conference and Council, Buenos Aires, 21-28 August 2004. In addition, assisted with the organization of the joint session of IFLA Library History Section and FAIFE “Experiences of years of dictatorship and the effects on libraries: How can libraries continue to promote intellectual freedom in the aftermath of crisis?” as well as the joint session of IFLA Library History Section and Division on Education and Research “Breaking Barriers to Literacy: ‘Informacy’ as a Way of Supporting Unrestricted Access to Information in Developing Countries.”

1997 Served as a consultant for the Ministry of Culture of Romania on matters pertaining to the national public library network in general and the National Library of Romania in particular.

About a dozen of articles on literary criticism and comparative literature as well as world poetry and short stories translated into Romanian from French or English have been published in Romanian literary journals such as Contemporanul, România literara, Orizont, Transilvania, and Urzica.

About a dozen of feature films and TV series translated into Romanian from French or English have been broadcast by the Romanian National Television, along with documentary films produced in Romania by international producers translated into English or French.

Certified translator French and English (Ministry of Culture of Romania, 1982). Consecutive and simultaneous interpretation at international conferences, symposia, seminars, colloquia organized in Romania by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX), the British Council, the [British] Library Association, the American Library Association, the National Library, the Ministry of Culture, the Romanian Writers’ Association, and the Soros Foundation for an Open Society.
