On Thursday and Friday we held a Father’s Day stall where students were able to purchase great little items for their dads. We sold lots of gifts and I hope the dads really enjoy their day on Sunday. Also on the Dad’s activity day, the children enjoyed a special BBQ lunch with the dads and challenged them to a game of Boot ball on the basketball court. The finale was a performance by the Police Show Band in our gym for the whole school. Everyone had a great day and I’d like to thank Mr Upton and the helpers who cooked, chopped onions, played the games and served. Without their help, the day would be difficult to organise, so thank you once again. Don’t forget our SunSmart Policy. Hats to be worn during

Terms 1 and 4.

Just a reminder that we are holding morning transition learning sessions for any student who will be starting Prep here at Movelle next year. The sessions are held on Mondays from 9 – 11am in our LEAP Centre. Students will do activities that help them to get used to school. They meet teachers and do fun learning activities.

Movelle School Values: Learning, Respect,

BOOK WEEK 2013 It was a fantastic week! The children and teachers were in-volved in lots of fun literacy activities. The highlight of the week was ‘Dress Up As Your Favourite Book Character ’. Many students from all grade levels and teachers dressed up. We had quite an array of characters including: The Queen of Hearts (from Alice In Wonderland), Little Red Riding Hood, the wolf & grandma, Sailor Moon, Zorro, witches, Wally (from Where’s Wally), Mary Poppins, princesses and many more. It was a fun day and all enjoyed themselves. The winners of the CBCA competitions are: The ‘Young Readers’ category – ‘The Children of the King’ The ‘Early Childhood Category – ‘The Terrible Suitcase’ And the winner of the ‘Eve Powell Book of the Year for 2013’ is ‘Tom the Outback Mailman Congratulations to the winners!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank parents/friends, office staff, teachers & students for sup-porting Book Week. I would also like to extend a big thank you to the cast of the ‘The Best Beak of Boonaroo Bay’: Denis Purda, Nicole Cassar, Leah Camilleri, Lien Nguyen, Ana-stasia Koutsivos, Linda Nguyen, Liana Makalovski, and Emma Bellotti. These students gave up their time to prepare for the performance and they did a fantastic job. This day would not have been successful without all the wonderful support from across the school. We look forward to an even bigger and better Book Week next year. We sold $626 of books at Paula’s Book Stall – Thank you!
