Eisteddfod

We had over 100 students performing in the Eisteddfod

this year, which was fantastic. I really enjoyed

watching the choirs on Monday. I was so PROUD of

all of our students. They were all in uniform, black

shoes, ribbons in their hair, they looked wonderful and

sang beautifully. Both choirs received Honourable

Mentions. Many of our other students performed well

either individually with instruments or in duets. A big

thank you to Miss Bicker, Ms McGann, Carole Cook

and especially one of our mums Katie O’Donnell.

Katie came to school each week helping to prepare our

senior choir.

Indi Spratt has been selected and invited to perform at

the Eisteddfod's Gala Concert on Saturday at the

Mildura Arts Centre, after her great achievement at the

Eisteddfod with 1st Prize for Primary Guitar Duet, 2nd

in her solo and HM for her Secondary School duet (she

teamed up with a secondary student). Congratulations

Indi.

Cleaning Contract

After approximately 30 years of service to our school,

we will be farewelling Greg Taylor Cleaning Services.

We thank and appreciate Greg for his commitment in

keeping our school lovely and clean. Greg is moving to

Tasmania and we would like to wish both he and Mary

Jon and Viv Whitchurch of ACE Cleaning Service. We

are looking forward to working with their company.

Junior School Council

Next Monday June 26th Junior School Council will be

having a sausage sizzle to raise funds for State

Schools’ Relief.

State Schools’ Relief ensures that every student

regardless of their background can fully participate in

education. Having a uniform and looking like everyone

else ensures that all students feel included and valued.

The service promotes each child’s dignity because the

service is run anonymously through schools. They

have supported tens of thousands of young Victorians

and their families, clothing 1 in 60 kids for each school

year.

In the past we have used the services of State Schools’

Relief for MSPS children and families who were in

need.

GRADES 1 & 2 SWIMMING

We have made a decision to postpone our swimming

week due to the cold weather. Fortunately a week has

become available in Term 4. Grade 1 and 2 students

will now do their swimming from 23rd – 27th October,

2017 (Week 3 of Term 4). This will also provide

families with a further opportunity to pay for students

to be involved in the swimming program.

Sausage Sizzle

On Monday 26th June, we will be having a Sausage

Sizzle to raise money for the State School’s Relief

Program. State School Relief is an organisation that

helps to ensure that every student, regardless of their

background, can fully participate in education. Sausage

Sizzle order forms can be handed in to the Leadership

team at the Canteen.

Last day for orders will be Friday 23rd June.

Lolly Jar Raffle Throughout the last week of school, we will be holding

a “Lollies in the Jar” raffle. Tickets are 20c each, and

the winner will be announced on the last day of school.

Tickets will be on sale at lunchtimes in front of the

canteen starting Tuesday 27th June. All money raised

will go to the State School’s Relief Fund.

ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE! This is huge news! There will be an ice bucket

challenge on the last day of school, Friday 30th June at

2.15pm. Each class will have a jar to donate money

into. The 4 classes that raise the most money, will

have a bucket of water and ice poured on their

teacher’s head. So bring in any money you can if you

want your teacher to be one of the lucky ones. You can

also donate into other teacher’s jars, including

specialist teachers like, Mr Kennedy, Mrs Powell, Miss

Bicker and Mrs Siladi. All money raised will go to the

State Schools’ Relief Fund.
