Portfolio ManagementWith this feature you have control over ideas, projects and programmes that are being proposed, executed and managed within the organisation.

With the dashboard, the automated reports and graphical widgets you put together the optimal portfolio based on specific KPI’s, strategic goals and certain constraints (i.e. $ and people).

With a simple report workflow it is possible to request a status of your portfolio periodically. This information can be used to timely adjust the portfolio.

For new initiatives there is a possibility to capture them and compare them with the project portfolio. If necessary it is possible to cancel or delay on-going projects to create space for higher priority initiatives.

Programme ManagementOn the programme you have a central overview of all active projects within your programme. It will also give you an overview of all dependencies between the different projects.

The dashboard gives you insight in the status of the projects with a configurable dashboard, several widgets and automated reports.

For programme management it is possible to use the Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) methodology, or your own “best practice”.

Project ManagementIn the Principal Toolbox it is possible to manage all sizes and complexity levels of projects. From large and complex to simple, recurring projects.

For the last option we work with a so-called Single Sheet. This is one sheet with a minimal set of information that is

necessary to start and manage a project. The Single Sheet can be configured based on the customers requirements.

For the larger projects we work with project models. A project model contains:- A workflow from start to finish (i.e. PRINCE2, Stage Gate,

Six Sigma, customer specific project models, etc.)- Customer specific reports and templates- And customer specific fields.

The project dashboard gives a direct overview of the most important information (bottlenecks, issues, progress) and can be customised based on the requirements of the customer.

Project PlanningThe project can be defined by using a Product Breakdown Structure (PBS) and can be planned by using a Gantt Editor. This can all be done with the user-friendly ‘drag & drop’ functionality.

On the Gantt it is also possible to add customer specific fields and display and register costs and resources.

LogsThe Principal Toolbox contains logs to centrally register and track issues, risks, quality reviews, lessons learned, actions and changes.

Log items are easy to create and modify and it is possible to assign actions to people. Information from logs can be used in automated reports.

Costs and hoursHours and costs can be captured in the Principal Toolbox. Budget overrun will automatically be signalled by traffic lights and the information can be used in automatic reports (Word and Excel).

For importing or exporting information to other systems such as; SAP, Dynamics, Exact, Oracle, JD Edwards, Coda, Track are default interfaces available.

Resource ManagementThis enables you to manage resources in an efficient way. The Principal Toolbox support the entire process regarding resource requests and allocations.

It gives your organisation insight in the utilization of resources (incl. over-allocations and free space).

The Principal Toolbox supports resource planning on project and product level with multiple skills per person.

Time SheetsOptionally, employees can easily enter their project hours on a weekly basis in the Principal Toolbox.

This gives management a perfect overview of spent hours per project, product, person and period.

Flexible reports

The Principal Toolbox contains a default set of around 40 reports .

It is also possible to use your own default reports (MS Word and MS Excel) and templates can easily be modified.

Quickly and simply create reports, like Highlight Reports, project plans, PID’s and status reports.

With the Principal Toolbox you can implement interfaces with your financial system (SAP, Oracle, Peoplesoft, Exact etc.) or time registration tool in a short amount of time.
