1. Introduction: The Biogas Development and Training Centre (BDTC), Indore under the auspicious of Centre of

Energy Studies & Research, Devi Ahilya University, Indore, MP was established as a Technical Back

–Up Unit for Promotion of Biogas Program under the “New National Biogas and Organic Manure

Program” by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, New Delhi,

in the year 2018-2019 to provide technical support through different training programs. The Biogas

Development and Training Centre, Indore carries out the assigned work from MNRE in three states

i.e. Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.

2. Objectives of the Program:

1. To provide efficient technology to the nodal departments of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and

Maharashtra for implementing the biogas program in shortest possible time.

2. To identify biogas extension centers including development and establishment, conducting

training programs for their staff and reviewing the program from time to time.

3. To conduct surveys of at least 1000 plants in consultation with nodal departments and

organization on regional basis so that the methods could be suggested for their repair.

4. BDTC provides help in biogas techniques and implementation work in the other states including

MP, CG and Maharashtra.

5. To review the extension materials developed and select the same for motivating the proponents

by working as clearing house.

6. To know the view of users with respect to different models of biogas plants and use of slurry by

examining the same.

7. To conduct the program suggested by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the State

nodal departments.

8. Performance testing of the biogas accessories.

9. To provide clean bio- gaseous fuel mainly for cooking purposes and also for other applications

for reducing use of LPG and other conventional fuels.

10. To meet ‘Life Line Energy needs for cooking as envisage in ‘Integrated Energy policy’.

11. To provide bio- fertilizer / organic manure to reduce use of chemical fertilizer.

12. To mitigate drudgery of rural women, reduce pressure on forests and accentuate social benefits.

13. To improve sanitation in villages by linking sanitary toilets with biogas plants.

14. To mitigate Climate Change by preventing black carbon and methane emissions.

Annual Coordination Committee Meeting was held at BDTC, CESR, DAVV, and Indore on 19.09.2018

at 12.30 pm to finalize the schedule for the training program and physical verification work under the

NNBOMP during 2018-19 in the state of Maharashtra in the presence of Secretary RDD.

First coordination committee meeting on Biogas with RDD, Maharashtra- Year 2018-19.

With reference to the E-File No. 253/2016/2017 - BG dated 30.05.2018 from MNRE,

New Delhi; first Coordination Committee Meeting is fixed at Rural Development

Department, Bandhkam Bhawan, 25 Merzban Road,Fort Mumbai, on 19.09.2018 at 11

.00 AM to finalize the schedule for the training program and physical verification

work under the NNBOMP during 2018-19 in the state of Maharashtra.

I. Annual Coordination Committee Meeting with the concerned SNAs:

Coordination Committee Meeting is proposed for the State biogas Nodal Agencies

from state of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.

As discussed with the state biogas nodal agencies of above three states are asking

from BDTC for essential Training program in the field of Biogas plant Construction

and organic manure. Therefore a concrete training program is required for the states.

III. Providing Technical support to the state Agencies like MPUVN, MEDA, CREDA etc: For Biogas OFF-Grid Power Project, for community biogas plants.

IV. Other Work: Monitoring of off-grid power plant during construction. Inspection of biogas power plants, Preliminary survey for feasibility of power generation plant from biogas.

V. Development of literature as per new scheme NNBOMP.

It is requested that the above program to be sanctioned require for the year 2019-20 so that all the training programs can be organized within a financial year.

5. Training Courses 2018-19:

5.1 Construction cum Maintenance Training:

Purpose: To prepare trained and skilled mason for using effective technology in the field. Duration: Ten Days Material: Arranged by Beneficiaries. Trainees: Ten numbers each. Enlisted trainings have been conducted during the year 2018-19. List of trainees are given in Annexure I.

5.2 Turnkey Workers Training 2018-19:

Purpose: To prepare trained and skilled Self Employed Workers or Rural Energy Technicians for using

effective technology in this field.

Duration: Fifteen Days

5.3 Government Functionaries Training 2018-19:

Purpose: To minimize the field problems by choosing the right beneficiary, construction and

operational problems.

Duration: Four Days.

Jalna, Ratnagiri, Raigarh, Akola, Parbhani.

6. PHYSICAL VERIFICATION OF BIOGAS PLANTS 2018-19:

A target of physical verification cum feedback survey of 1000 Biogas Plants are fixed for the BDTC by

the MNRE under NNBOMP in the successive year. The survey work carried out in districts Solapur

and Jalna, Maharashtra only.
