"Initial redevelopment plans are emerging for a former dry clean-ers-turned-lawn-mower-repair store along Stone Avenue in Greenville to be converted into retail, restaurant and office space, including a second location of Coffee Underground. Developers Pete Brett and Michael Fletcher are under contract to purchase the 1-acre property at 109 W. Stone Ave., home to Battery and Electric Company, a small engine parts store, along with other businesses since the 1960s. BECO plans to move to a new, soon-to-be-an-nounced location. "One of the city’s new trolleys would serve Augusta Street, Cleveland Park and the Greenville Zoo, while the other would serve the Village of West Greenville under routes unveiled by Green-link Monday afternoon. The city is buying and funding operation of two new trolleys. The trolleys, which are being paid for through hospitality tax revenue, must sup-port restaurants, retail, parks and leisure destinations outside the central business district by pro-viding tourists — and residents — transportation. "Charleston developer The Beach Co. plans to turn a high-rise in downtown Greenville that is currently occupied by the BB&T bank into an apartment com-plex.
