has received several awards and stands out due to its effort towards academic
excellence. Some examples are:
- 2017: listed among the best 100 schools in Spain.
- 2006: the Programme for International Student Assessment, PISA (a worldwide
study by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, which
involves 510.000 participating students), established that Irabia’s results are

Mathematics and ranks second after Finland in the scientific field.
- It was recognised as an “Apple Distinguished School” thanks to the way they

Continuous innovation and strong links built among teachers, families, and students
are the basis of this educational success.
In order to further develop their innovation strategy, Irabia has cooperative
agreements with Harvard University, R. And D. Johnson from the University of
Minnesota, The Center for Teaching Thinking in Boston, Ewan McIntosh from No Tosh
and the University of Navarra.
With a multilingual environment and a
strong focus on languages, the school
starts introducing English in their
students’ education at a young age
(kindergarten). Since 2010, it is officially
recognised as a Bilingual School: 50% of
the day taught in English in Educación
Infantil (2-5yo); and 40% of the day in
Primary (6-12yo) and Secondary (13-
18yo).
Activities are regularly organised to help with the religious and spiritual development
of the students, teaching and non-teaching staff, and for any interested parents.
Participation in these activities is always voluntary.
