The SALONE INTERNAZIONALE DEL MOBILE, held every April, remains the world’s most important

design fair. It leads the way in furniture design, both from Italy and abroad, showcasing the

innovations that will soon be shaping interiors across the globe. With an increasing presence, which

is second only after Italy, Spain has been completing and enriching the Salone’s offer since 1996

with its diverse array of furnishing products, design items and styles.

This year, the 62 Spanish companies of MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA will cover a surface of more than

6,000 sqm in three style sectors -Classic, Modern and Design-, and at the Workplace3.0 /

SaloneUfficio, dedicated to the workspace, in halls 22 and 24.

DUAL is a lightweight, sleek line of occasional tables designed by Lievore Altherr Molina. Available in two

heights and three different top shapes (round, square and elliptical), it feaures an aluminium structure and

an oval-shaped column, which confers balance to its unique, timeless design. With a frame made of solid

beech wood frame and upholstered seat and back, the PILLOW side chairs, armchairs and lounge chairs are

another creation of Lievore Altherr Molina for the brand.

The comfortable, beautiful and resilient SPOT, a

creation of the in-house Estudio Andreu, can be used

either as an ottoman or side chair. Available in

three sizes, in various fabrics and leather options, it

With the same construction system, the wardrobes of

the W collection offer a wide choice of fronts that

adapt easily to different environments. Baseboards

allow to integrate the different elements of the

Strongly committed to design and innovation, the Spanish ARLEX has made

a name for itself for using a cosmopolitan, technological language that can

be understood in very different cultural contexts, which blends in like

chameleons do. Every year they enrich their ranges with new design items

that are the result of a fruitful collaboration with top-notch names of Spain’s

design. As a new launch, they will unveil in Milan EASEL, a clean-lined

bedroom cloth stand made of wood and available in different finishes. It

complements the W Collection, a line of versatile wardrobes created, as

Easel, by Odosdesign.


OM is a collection of sun shades that

can easily adapt to every outdoor space

and need. Thanks to its versatile design

and its technical features, Om is

available in three different models: the

central pole umbrella; the wall umbrella;

the folding wind/ambience, fixed to the

floor.

Probably the only 100% waterproof

modular sofa on the market, the DORM

sofa features comfort foams, interior PE

frame and waterproof, removable

upholsteries (Silvertex®, Sunbrella®).

Made of a PE or PC folded board, PLIS PLAS is a playful

collection of chairs that can be customized in different

Tops come in several shape options (round, oval, rectangular),

sizes and materials: laminated beech, oak, HDF coated in

melamine in different colours, Compac, extra clear tempered

glass, marble and ceramic. The GAZELLE tables match all

perfectly with the chairs and armchairs of the CONCORD

collection, another creation of Claesson Koivisto Rune for the

brand.

GAZELLE is a collection of elegant tables designed by Claesson Koivisto

Rune for the Spanish brand, one of the Spanish leading companies in the

designer seating sector. Made of pure, stylized lines, GAZELLE is an ultra-

modern design project that takes the essence of the table and declines it

in different sizes, shapes and materials. The legs are made of anodized

aluminium and can be finished in epoxy paints.

JIAN, the sober and timeless collection designed by

Neri & Hu, has been extended with two new

attractive additions that combine aesthetics and

functionality: the HOODED sofa, with its clean-shaped

canopy; and the JIAN terrace recliner.

A new line of stylish tables, modular sofas and

high back armchairs has been added to the STACK

outdoor stackable furniture collection, a design by

Borja García inspired by the nautical world with

elements that recall the ‘60s and ‘70s.

In TITUNA, the new collection of chairs, armchairs, rocking

chairs, tables and poufs designed by Mariana Lerma for the

brand, the woven fabric of the seat and back evokes the

aesthetic of the traditional Spanish furniture which inspired

the collection. In contrast, its pure and elemental silhouette

lends it a fresh and contemporary character, typical of the

GANDIA BLASCO collections.

Strongly committed, since its beginnings in 1964, to innovation and design, the Catalonia-based KETTAL is a worldwide reference of interior & exterior décor. KETTAL MAIA ROPE

collection, designed by Patricia Urquiola, is an evolution

of the classic Kettal Maia. This version adds a light design

and natural elegance, combining a hand-braided nautical

rope with a new set of teak legs, providing energy and

warmth. Other new launches of top-notch designers will

be unveiled directly in Milan.


The SIXTY-NINE collection is an outburst of passion and energy, as its provocative name suggests. Glamour

& character, which are the hallmarks of LA EBANISTERIA - a reference of unique, high-end furnishing-, have

also been conveyed into this distinctive yet elegant line of home furniture that is suitable for different

lifestyles. With its unique design, the MUR MUR table is the most outstanding piece. It features an impressive

top made of full grain smoked oak wood, copper details and legs lacquered in matt black. The GINA chair is

a perfect match for this table. Glamorous and attractive, it comes lacquered in copper and upholstered in

black velvet with details in navy blue.


OBOE is one of the most contemporary and comfortable sofa of the

Valencia-based brand. Designed by Ximo Roca and inspired by great

designs of the ‘60s, OBOE is a seating collection that includes sofas of

different sizes and armchairs. It features a clean-lined design enriched by

refined upholsteries and stainless steel legs that lend also lightness to

pieces and can be finished in different ways.

Thanks to its low backs and the inlaid armrests, the OBOE sofa is ideal for

dividing lounge areas creating different focal points. Matching upholstered

occasional tables can be used to extend the rest spaces.


MOSS sideboard and the BOTTON table lamp by Ximo

MOSS and IOS are the two brand new

contemporary modular systems for living spaces

designed by estudio loyra. This two collection,

which are different in construction systems but have

a compatible design, maintain high quality

standards and feature a cool combination of natural

veneers (walnut, oak, smoked oak) and high gloss

or matt lacquers. Other new proposals include a

new line of designer chairs (OLE, MARIQUITA and

ROA by Ximo Roca), dining tables (VESTA and

KONE by Ximo Roca; RHO by Jon Abad) and

amazing lighting products (BOTTON, BELL, PULA

and STICK by Ximo Roca) that complement and add

further interest to living room furniture. All the

products are suitable for residential and contract

use.


The table, which is suitable for home and

contract use, comes with felts or

polypropylene blocks under the base to

improve the indoor and outdoor

performances, respectively. The chairs of

Kvadrat design fabrics of high technical

DRESSY line NEW!


With strong Mediterranean roots, POINT has

extended its beautiful catalogue of outdoor furniture

with new designers models enriched by new textures,

colours and materials, such as the natural teak (A-

grade), the Shintotex fibres in new colours and the

weather –resistant fabrics (Sunbrella, Batyline, Serge

Ferrari, Texyloop…). Among them, the new collec-

tion of the Spanish Francesc Rifé: ROUND, HAMP,

PUL and the BUT chairs in both a combination

lacquered aluminum and teak or only in lacquered

aluminium.

Teak is also the great protagonist of ARC and

LINEAL, the two new outdoor furniture

collection designed by Gabriel Teixidó for the

brand.

The CREU, ALGAR and ZEROS seating collec-

tions, a former creation by Ximo Roca for the

brand, have been reinterpreted and included in

the indoor line. It’s an authentic vintage seating

collection that features a natural mix of stainless

steel, marrow and natural.

A worldwide key player in the hospitality

sector, SKYLINE DESIGN unveils in Milan a

new in-house designed collection:

MALDIVES, which combines for the first time

in a Skyline Design’s collection materials such

as aluminium, wood and glass. It consists of a

dining table with a sturdy structure in polished

aluminum and a white glass top, and a

comfortable straight-lined chair made of

polished aluminium with armrests in natural

teak. Seats are filled with QDF (quick dry foam)

of URECEL and come upholstered in Batyline

and Serge Ferrari fabrics (ISO 5112).

ACTIU has developed seven new series of products which

seating collection. Made with a timber framed structure

and leather upholstery, this program comes in the same

finishes as the furniture in order to perfectly match with the

Final figures for 2014 indicate that Spain’s exports of furniture have increased by +5.5% over the

previous year’s figures, amounting to 1,692 million euros at the end of the year.

Rich in styles and ranges and with a unique emotional approach, Furniture from Spain has

consolidated its presence in four EU countries: France, Portugal, Germany and the United

Kingdom, which rank 1st to 4th among Spain’s major markets and concentrate 53.7% of total

exports.

With the exceptions of France and The Netherlands, exports have increased significantly in most

of the top ten importers. Among Spanish furniture's traditional markets, Germany and United

Kingdom have registered the best results, with purchases growing by +32.0% and +23.9%,

respectively. Exports to Italy, the host country of the Salone, have recovered after years of

negative results, amounting to 54.5 million euros and showing an encouraging growth trend of

+11.9%.

Significant increases have also been registered in exports to America: USA earned the 7th

position in the ranking, with imports of Spanish furniture growing by +2.0% to 53.5 million euros,

while the Mexican market ranks now 9th, registering a substantial +40.6% increase and totalling

50.6 million euros.

In North Africa and the Gulf Region, good results have been reported in Saudi Arabia (+6.4%)

and Morocco (+9.5%), which trust Spanish furniture companies for their high-end residential,

commercial and hospitality projects.
