Chart 1 ( Based on liquid specific gravity 0,9 - 1,0 )

Pressure Operated Pump - POP & PP014How to select & size

Example:Condensate load 1800 Kg/hFilling head 0,15 mMotive fluid Compressed airAvailable pressure 8 barVertical lift after pump 6 mReturn piping pressure 1.5 barPiping friction pressure drop Negligible

Correction for filling Head:With 0,15m filling head the correction factor from chart 3Is 0,7. The corrected capacity is,2590Kgs/h x 0,7 = 1813 kg/h

Calculations:Total back pressure:1,5bar + ( 6mx0,0981)= 2,09barPump choice, assuming steam as motive pressureat 8 bar and a back pressure of 3bar, the DN50pump has a capacity of 2590 kg/h according toChart 1.

Correction for air as a motive fluid:The % back pressure 2,09bar/8bar = 30%The correction factor from chart 2, is 1,08.The corrected capacity is, 1813kg/h x 1,08=1958Kg/h,and so a DN50 pump is still recommended.

DescriptionThe ADCAMAT APST (Automatic Pump and Steam Trap) fabricated in carbon steel or stainless steel is specially recommended where a “stall” condition may occur due to poor steam trap condensate discharge, caused by temporary insufficient differential pressure. The equipment has the features of a float steam trap, combined with a pressure operated pump, in the same unit. Whenever the steam trap function it’s not enough to drain the condensate, the pump function is activated (using external steam pressure) before water logging may occur, lifting the condensate to the condensate return system, avoiding water hammer and consequent noise and equipment damage, corrosion, unstable temperature control, etc. Connections are flanged.

T Electric Condensate Recovery UnitsDescriptionCondensate Recovery is as an important part of a steam system as the boiler, boiler feedtank, blowdown vessel or steam trap.

The way a condensate recovery unit integrates within the system is to collect the condensate after the steam trap and return it to the boiler feedtank where there is insufficient pressure in the condensate to return under its own power.

By returning the condensate we can achieve the following benefits;- Saving on water effluent costs- Saving on make up water costs- Saving on lost energy costs- Saving on feedwater preheat costs- Saving on chemical treatment- Increase boiler efficiency due to higher feedwater temperature

Our cascade condensate pumping sets include:

- Stainless steel vessel mounted onto a carbon steel frame

- Condensate inlet connections complete with stainless steel sparge pipes for flash steam absorption, sight level gauge for visual indication, tank overflow and vent connections

- Duty standby pumps. In the event of a peak load or pump failure. Standby/assist pump shall operate to relieve this peak demand. Both pumps are to run off the cascade conductivity probes for pump on/off.

- IP65 control panel enclosure control panel is complete with the following:

- Mains incoming isolator, 2 x contactors and overloads for 2 x pumps, duty-assists pump control with an auto change over relay to alternate duty at the end of each cycle and in the event of a pump failure, level detection to start the duty pump and assist pump, pump fault indication, low level condensate tank pump inhibit to prevent pump dry running, volt free telemetry termination for remote stats, auto/hand/off switch for each pump.

- Duty assist pumps lines will come complete with upstream isolation valves, y-type strainers, non-return valves, pressure gauge sets with outlet regulating valves.

Design standards

This product is not a pressurized vessel and therefore does not need to comply with the European pressure equipment directive 97/23/ec.

T Horizontal Steam Separators - SH25/SDescriptionSH-25 series horizontal centrifugal separators remove moisture from steam and compressed air pipelines. Steam and compressed air passing through the separator and as a result of centrifugal forces, impact and swirling effects, separate the particles with a heavier specific gravity, such as water and oil droplets, moisture in suspension, dirt and scale. The condensate collected at the bottom of the separator, must be automatically drained by a suitable steam or compressed air trap. Connections are threaded or flanged.

How to order: i.e. SI-115DN 1/2” BSP

Selection under shadow area is recommended for quietist operation

Example: We require to inject 230 Kg/hr of steam with a pressure of 5,5 bar. From the injector capacity chart we see that at 5,5 bar the injector will pass 110 Kg/hr and 230 divided by 110=2,09 . Two injectors will barely cope, so, we recommend installing three injectors, which will meet the demand.

Selection under shadow area is recommended for quietest operation.

T Flash Vessels - RV SeriesDescriptionThe flash vessel is the main component in any flash recovery system. It can be used in all steam plants where high pressure condensate is reduced to a lower pressure, so that flash steam is formed by re-evaporation. This steam can be used in low pressure process or heating equipments. Connections are flanged or screwed on request.

SizingFor the correct selection it is required the condensate flow rate and temperature arriving to the flash vessel, as well as the flash steam pressure required. Auxiliary equipment is recommended. Consult the factory for the correct flash vessel selection and system design including all the necessary accessories.

Blowdown Expansion Vessel - BV SeriesDescriptionThe Adca blowdown vessels are used in the modern boiler houses to cool hot waste water and steam boiler blowdown before to discharge into a pit or drain. The waste water is discharged into the unit which is at atmospheric pressure

If flash steam can not be recovered or discharged to atmosphere an additional condensing water spray system (optional) can be supplied. This one is fitted in the top of the unit and can be controlled directly by a thermostat.

Limiting Conditions PS - Maximum Allowable Pressure 7 BAR

TS - Maximum Allowable Temperature 180°C

Minimum operating temp.: 20ºC. Design code: AD-MerkblattOther conditions on request.

Flash Condensing Heads - FCD SeriesDescriptionThe Adca flash condensing heads are designed to promote energy efficiency on new or existing systems. Mixing the flash steam with the boiler water make up allows the energy within the flash steam to be fully absorbed into the water and therefore reduces energy waste that normally occurs from the discharge of flash steam through a vent. The main advantages over some traditional systems are that it is possible to make most of the piping connections in a single and compact mixing unit and that a greater quantity of heat recovery can be achieved.
