Four After-School Music Programs Launch 2011 Utah Arts FestivalMusicGarage.Org, Wasatch Music Academy, Rest 30 Music and School of Rock Return to UAF in 2011
Salt Lake City, UT Utah Arts Festival (UAF) Music Coordinator, Steven Doc Floorcame up with the idea of starting the 2010 festival with an afternoon of youth musicprogram performances. Floor invited the Directors of four Utah youth music programs torehearse and perform independently and to perform a final set together as the UAF YouthRock Ensemble.
Doc Floor has rebooked the youth music day in 2011 starting with a 12:00 pm lunchhour set from MusicGarage.Org, the after-school and summer youth music programstarted by musician and producer, Steve Auerbach. MusicGarage.Org is followed bySchool of Rock the national program that Auerbach brought to Utah and Colorado in
2005 prior to starting MusicGarage.Org as a program of the non-profit Utah ArtsAlliance. The afternoon roster also includes Wasatch Music Coaching Academy and theRest 30 School of Music Instruction.
These are followed by the co-op Utah Arts Festival Youth Rock Ensemble featuring amix of musicians from each of the four after-school programs.
