PRESS RELEASE

ONE BROWARD TEACHER AFFECTS 1,000s TO CREATE A BETTER TODAY

The Broward County Chapter of the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge will be awarding Amy DeCelle an extremely dedicated Broward County Teacher who has been awarded the Teacher/Administrator 2015-2016 George Washington Honor Award from 1000s of nominees. This esteemed award will be presented at 8:30 A.M. on Monday November 2, 2015 at Tropical Elementary located at 1500 SW 66th Ave, Plantation, FL 33317 in the media center. Surprising her at this ceremony will be 100’s of previous students, parents, Foundation members, Broward County School Board Members and the Broward County School Superintendent Mr. Runcie, whom Amy DeCelle identifies as the mentor who motivates and inspires her to continue her mission and “Strive for Excellence”.

Amy DeCelle has been verified as an individual who positively and continuously influences students, their parents, teachers, community leaders, and various Foundations through her innovative teaching, as she creates her own curriculum, achieving standard mastery both socially and cognitively with seventeen years of 100 % student learning gains. Amy DeCelle’s students’ are continuously motivated to be the best he or she can be. This is done through her creation “Acting in Kindness”, which reinforces Broward County’s Character Traits. Her students learn to value each person’s contributions, which helps them become cognizant of the world around “us” and value one another.

Volunteering for Foundations such as the Broward Education Foundation, which supports Broward County Education has solidified her altruistic nature. Amy takes on leadership roles through creating and facilitating grant workshops, crafting rubrics for teacher and student success, generating surveys to obtain qualitative and quantitative data which allows her to reflect on the effectiveness of the trainings.

Broward County Chapter nominated her for this award. However, a local panel of distinguished judges chose her as our award recipient from thousands of recommendations from Miami, Broward and Palm Beach County School Districts.

Amy’s high-energy, creativity, and altruistic nature is hypnotic and inspires those around her, proven by 17 successful years educating our youth, socially, cognitively, and emotionally. Her effectiveness and leadership in the community has not gone unnoticed and her devotion to help create socially and academically successful environments should be the standard for educational leadership.

Sincerely,Elizabeth Stevenson, VP Public Relations Freedoms Foundation at Valley ForgeBroward County Chapter954-699-1177
