Our Story


Since 1925, the name Loacker has stood for pure and wholesome

natural goodness, the highest quality and love for nature -

combined in our delicious wafer and chocolate specialties.

Over the past 90 years, the family business founded by Alfons

Loacker has developed from a small regional confectioner to a

globally known brand with products that delight people in more

than 100 countries.

What has helped us with this, and still does, is our status as a

family business. We can decide each step ourselves and have

ensured the highest quality for generations. Our products are

made in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in the pristine

environment of the Dolomites, and prepared according to an old

family tradition - thus continuing what Alfons Loacker started in his

little patisserie in Bolzano in 1925.

In 1925, Alfons Loacker, a trained confectioner, opened his small patisserie

with his two helpers in Dominikanerplatz, Bolzano. In addition to classic

patisserie products, he started to create wafer specialties made from

natural raw material according to his own recipes.

The operating capital merely included professional skills and real

pioneering spirit, combined with a lot of enthusiasm and endurance, which

helped the company to rise until the start of the Second World War.

After the Second World War had significantly hampered production,

Loacker started afresh in 1945 with 600 kg of cocoa beans and a bank

balance of 0. Bit by bit, production could be increased and bigger machines

could be acquired.

In 1958, son, Armin Loacker, joined the parental business after completing

his education as a confectioner and gathering experience abroad. As the

person in charge of production, he became the pioneer of the succeeding

industrial phase. Ten years later, his sister, Christine, joined with

responsibility for administration and sales, and the youngest brother,

Rainer, completed the successful team by the end of the 70s as a sales

director.
