In 2019, FSL celebrated its 45 th year in service to Arizona! We have much to rejoice this year, including program expansions, prestigious awards, and increases in organizational capacity and resiliency. With your partnership, FSL will be able to support Arizonans in need for another 45 years and beyond! This past year, we heard much about the nationwide housing crisis. But, did you know that Arizona ranks third worst in the nation for access to affordable housing? While we know that many factors contribute to the shortage of affordable housing – market forces, policy decisions, and demographic changes – and that it will take significant collaborations on the part of local, state, and federal governments, we are proud to add several hundred units of affordable housing to Arizona’s stock over the next few years. In 2019, we opened The Marist on Cathedral Square, an 83-unit affordable senior housing community in downtown Tucson. We also entered into the final phase of South Phoenix Village, a partnership with City of Phoenix to build 126 new energy-efficient, affordable homes for sale to income- qualified families. While we are marching into a new decade, we have four multi-family projects in various stages of development, and we continue to look for more opportunities to bring affordable housing options our state. In addition to quality affordable housing, we also provide nutritious meals programs to nourish seniors in their homes and in our centers, health and wellness programs to allow seniors and adults with disabilities to age with dignity, and support for family caregivers who are often working full-time while tending to their caregiving responsibilities. With your support, we helped 32,789 Arizonans in need last year! When you review our annual report you will see that by partnering with FSL you are impacting many lives throughout our communities. In 2019, FSL realized some pretty amazing achievements: Our Home Improvements program expanded in several ways: we were awarded a contract to expand our Weatherization and Home Repair services to the City of Tucson; we received funding from APS for a new multi-family weatherization program; and we partnered with the City of Tolleson to administer their major rehabilitation program. Our Real Estate team was recognized with several awards including the SRP Champions of Energy Efficiency Award for South Phoenix Village, an Historic Preservation Award from the Tucson-Pima County Historic Commission for The Marist on Cathedral Square and both projects were awarded with Housing Hero Awards from the Arizona Department of Housing. Our Chief Operating Officer, Carrie Smith, was presented with the ATHENA Valley of the Sun Honoring Athena Inspired Leaders (HAIL) Award for Fostering Collaboration. Our Assisted Group Living program implemented a new electronic medication reconciliation software to better manage medications for residential behavioral health clients. Our Adult Day Health Services (ADHS) program initiated a new customer satisfaction protocol, Listen4Good, with a grant provided by Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, Inc through Fund for Shared Insight, which returned a net promoter score of 93 (industry average is 80), meaning that 93% of caregivers would recommend FSL’s ADHS program to someone else. Our reputation as a teaching organization has grown significantly to include agreements with Grand Canyon University, Arizona State University, Creighton University, Seton Hall University, The Ohio State University, Walden University, and several community colleges to benefit student interns in the fields of nursing, social work, nutrition, recreational therapy, and behavioral health. In 2019, FSL celebrated its 45th year in service to Arizona!

With your support, we helped 32,789 Arizonans in need last year!

When you review our annual report you will see that by partnering with FSL you are impacting many lives throughout our communities.

In 2019, FSL realized some pretty amazing achievements:

• Our Home Improvements program expanded in several ways: we were awarded a contract to expand our Weatherization and Home Repair services to the City of Tucson; we received funding from APS for a new multi-family weatherization program; and we partnered with the City of Tolleson to administer their major rehabilitation program.

• Our Real Estate team was recognized with several awards including the SRP Champions of Energy Efficiency Award for South Phoenix Village, an Historic Preservation Award from the Tucson-Pima County Historic Commission for The Marist on Cathedral Square and both projects were awarded with Housing Hero Awards from the Arizona Department of Housing.

• Our Chief Operating Officer, Carrie Smith, was presented with the ATHENA Valley of the Sun Honoring Athena Inspired Leaders (HAIL) Award for Fostering Collaboration.

• Our Assisted Group Living program implemented a new electronic medication reconciliation software to better manage medications for residential behavioral health clients.

• Our Adult Day Health Services (ADHS) program initiated a new customer satisfaction protocol, Listen4Good, with a grant provided by Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, Inc through Fund for Shared Insight, which returned a net promoter score of 93 (industry average is 80), meaning that 93% of caregivers would recommend FSL’s ADHS program to someone else.

• Our reputation as a teaching organization has grown significantly to include agreements with Grand Canyon University, Arizona State University, Creighton University, Seton Hall University, The Ohio State University, Walden University, and several community colleges to benefit student interns in the fields of nursing, social work, nutrition, recreational therapy, and behavioral health.

We could not accomplish this much without our many partners in the faith, healthcare, government, corporate, and philanthropic communities. We thank you and hope you will continue to support our mission throughout 2020.
