WP5 exploits the results of WP4. This WP aims at

achieving the fourth specific objective of the project:

to build the leadership capacities of the senior

management at PC HEIs, with a focus on

transformational leadership;

to contribute to building grassroots leadership

capacities in the PC HEIs as a whole, and in the

student communities

MAIN ACTIVITIES OF WP5

Development of training and reference materials in leadership and in change management

Organization of 1-day leadership training for senior managers and administrators from the PC HEIs

Organization of 1-day training in change management and effective communication for senior managers and administrators from the PC HEIs, focused on the role of change agents in the organization

Both trainings involve preparation of the trainees to act as trainers at their home institutions.

The trainings were performed by EU experts.

The trainings are followed by organization of 1-day Leaders and Change Agents’ Retreat for experts from all La MANCHE institutions. It will involve networking activities and wrap-up discussions.

The trained change agents will subsequently act as trainers and will organize local trainings in change management and leadership for the following target groups at PC HEIs:

MAIN ACTIVITIES OF WP5

The local multiplication 3-day trainings in leadership and change management organized by 23 PC HEIs will aim at developing skills for effective change management and introducing innovative culture in institutions.

The trainings take into account local context and use the syllabus, guidance materials, and training and reference

materials that are provided in WP4 and WP5.

The trained change agents will organize one lecture in grassroots leadership with the objective to motivate and build the capacity to engage actively in the decision making processes at the university and to stimulate initiation and facilitation of bottom-up changes by the following target groups at PC HEIs:

Indicative content of the one lecture in grassroots leadership:

the EU’s HE modernization agenda and the role of grassroots leadership and student involvement in decision-making at the university;

self-assessment of leadership skills and potential;

morality, ethics and university-community relations;

communication skills and practices when exercising leadership; strategies for inducing bottom-up change, etc.

The lectures will be prepared by PC HEIs on the basis of the

materials and case studies provided by EU experts in WP4 and WP5.

provided by each PC HEI before the initiation of trainings

and lectures

Reports and evidence of the trainings and public

lectures held at institutional level will be required

The reports are done upon completion of trainings and

public lectures with the help of special templates to be

emailed to the PC HEIs

Evidence to be submitted by the PC HEIs of the trainings and public lectures held at institutional level:

1) Schedule of training events. Deadline: 15/12/2013.

2) Attendance lists, photos, videos from the events, event reports.

3) Feedback from the participants (questionnaires to be filled out by all participants and interviews taken from a certain number of trainees).

4) News items on institutional website.

5) Press releases.

Delivery date of the trainings evidence under No. 2-5: 9/05/2014.

Delivery date of the lectures evidence under No. 2-5: 8/06/2014.

Short video summary of the events and interviews taken from a certain number of trainees (5-10 minutes max).

Event reports.

Trainings, public lectures, handouts and videos are in local language. Provide brief translation into English for videos.

Feedback from the participants (questionnaires to be filled out by all participants).

News items on institutional website (screen shots).

Press releases in institutional and local (non obligatory) mass media.

Brief translation of news and press releases into English is needed.
