Coming to Finland…….I came Finland in 28 July, 2008. My elder brother who is living in Finland with his family invited me and my current employer Mr. Washingman Oy. arranged job to come Finland as a laundry worker.I am working with Mr. Washingman Oy. since then and hope continue in future.

My workplace………..Here is my workplace, Mr. Wahsingman Oy. This company doing business of cleaning and laundry service.

Customers :

• Restaurants in Helsinki area,• Summertime island restaurants,• old home.• Other cleaning companies, • Individual or private customers.

Services :

• Normal washing,• Chemical/dry cleaning,• Mangle(Mankeli) work,• Carpet washing/cleaning,• Ironing.

Laundry workers : 12-14 persons.

Working shift : 2 shifts.Koskelantie 21B 00610 Helsinki.

My works / duties……………

• Sorting/separating of incoming clothes,• Barcode labeling / registering,• Dry clean / chemical washing,• Customer service, • Optional work washing.

Starting study in KEUDA…..

KEUDA Jaarvenpaa

In August 2011 I started my study in Keuda Aikuisopisto Jaarvenpaa to become a Tekstiilihuoltaja.

Opetus pesula.

Selction and planning of study……Keuda, oppisopimus keskus and my employer review my previous study and experiences, then planned for my study courses. Courses that I need for my current work place.

In 2011 summer, Keuda, oppisopimus keskus and my employer made an agreement for study and work at the same time in Mr. Washingman Oy. (my employer).

Finnish language learning…….

Studying language…..

Oppisopimus keskus also give me opportunity to learn Finnish language, they arrange language course for me and teacher come to my workplace during school month and teaching me grammatical , writing , speaking form of Finnish language .

Apprenticeship ……………..

Aprenticeship helps me to learn practically in work place which I studied theoretically in school. So, I can follow and implement the proper, right procedure of work.

Dry clean practical test…….

April 04, 2012 I appeared for practical test on Dry clean washing.

My views after completion one year of the course….

After complete one year of Tekstiili huoltaja course I feel myself that I learned lots of theoratical and practical things of laundry operation. Such as……..

• About different types of fabrics, fibers, textile material (man made / Natural),• About different types chemical, their characteristics, • About different machinery and their work,• About computer filing and presentation,• Testing of different textile material,• On hand practice.• Got idea about large laundry operation by visiting Uudenman sairala pesula, Kerava.

As a foreign national I feel great to study in Keuda. And I feel nationals of other country living in Finland can also study at Keuda.
