Natural Layering Technique: Concept based on the idea of a synthesis of light, material and colour which comes extremely close to the natural tooth.

The Dentist should have the opportunity to use the Natural Layering Technique in order to achieve optimum results in the reconstruction of natural teeth.

MIRIS consists of:

Two basic fluorescence composite masses for the selection of dentin or enamel

Effect composite masses in order to create or imitate individual shades and opalescences

Dentin Masses Dentin Shades –

one single hue, one opacity

Creation of «Dentin Shades»1-2-3-4-5-6-7

The dentin masses have ahigh opacity and fluorescencewhich correspond to the naturaldentin shades.

Enamel Masses

«Enamel Shades» exist in a varietyof colours and with different degreesof opacities.

Natural tooth Colour

Determining factors of the natural colour valueof a tooth.

Reason: Age determines the thickness of the enamel.

Young patients: colour value high

In young patients, enamel usually is white with market opalescent effects. At the incisal edge, the dentin lobes are fully covered with enamel. Dentin is rather light, with less alterations in its colour.

Result with MIRIS (young tooth)

Adults: colour value middle

In adult patients, enamel usually is less white and opalescent than in young ones; it is more neutral in colour, or is having a slight ivory tint. At the incisal edge, the dentin might be exposed and the lobe structure is being altered with a thinner enamel thickness. Dentin is getting darker.

Result with MIRIS (adult tooth)

Elder patients: colour value low

In old patients, enamel is thinner and more translucent. At the incisal edge, the dentin is like a straight wall, with just a trace of the lobes and covered with a very thin layer of enamel. Dentin is dark, due to continuous dentin apposition.

The Miris dentin core, covered with glycerin is inserted into the Miris shades thanks to the superposition of dentin and enamel materials.
